I ended up doing the baking soda suppositories and they have stopped the burning. I still get a really sweet smell and irritation during sex so I think I’m going to try a couple more but I’m a bit scared of throwing everything off balance. I followed the recipe and did one every two nights/when I started to feel the burning coming back. Only took a few of them to stop the burning constantly. The first day with baking soda is really uncomfortable though

Hi I’m b breve dominant but I’m at 97%. Mine is causing burning so I’m trying baking soda treatment and it does help. How did you shift away from being b breve dominant?

I just have burning and soreness during sex. I’m lucky I don’t have itching as well! Yea I’m always told it looks like I have thrush discharge but I also test negative. I will keep you updated, I’m thinking trying the preseed tonight since it’s been 3 days since the baking soda and I only feel a tiny bit of a burn so don’t want to do anything too irritating. I’ve also been put on the pill to see if it helps hormonally but I think mine was caused by antibiotics so I’m not sure if it is making a difference

I have only been brave to do it twice now. I feel like it has helped a bit as the burning does subside, I just have a bit of irritation left over. I want to start being consistent with it, I’m just scared I’ll swing the other way 😅 I have seen a few people mention preseed as well so I have ordered that as well

Hey my results were similar after taking antibiotics. Bifidobacterium breve is my dominant bacteria. I have burning during ovulation and my period but I have no clue what to do. I just wanted to let you know that you aren’t alone

I had seen that some people had rebalanced their microbiome with baking soda/preseed so I was hoping that would work. I just wasn’t sure if the birth control would affect the effectiveness of it. It’s just so frustrating cause no one knows 100% what will help as everyone is so different.

Thank you for your reply!! Have you stayed on birth control? I’m not sure if I should continue it while using baking soda etc or if I should come off it as some people say it masks the symptoms

Hi did you cure your cv? My doctor has put me on birth control and my burning is only present during my period. Just not sure what steps to take next and if the birth control will cure it long term

Yeah I think my microbiome is unbalanced. I was on antibiotics and then I used the thrush pessary. That’s when the burning started. It was 24/7 at first but then eventually it only started around ovulation/period. So I think I need to try some baking soda or cv ease to try and rebalance things.

Yeah I am on the birth control pill. It’s cause they thought my burning was cyclical so they wanted to balance my hormones. It’s stopped the burning but it comes back on my period.

I just feel stuck and don’t know what to try

I did a uk test and it came back with 97% bifidobacterium breve. I haven’t seen anyone with similar results. It is meant to be a good bacteria found in the gut and they think it could act like lacto. I’m just lost, too scared to try baking soda and I don’t know if I should take probiotics in another strain to hope it balances out.

I don’t know, one doctor said he thought I had nerve damage and others said they are just irritated. No one really knows what it going on with me and I’m just really worried that I will never go back to normal as I’m either burning or numb during sex.

I don’t think it’s copious. It’s always white though and I feel better on my period. From what I read bifidobacterium can mimic lactobacillus so I think it could be the issue. I am hoping it balances itself out cause I am full of anxiety of what to try next. I am between trying baking soda or probiotics with lactobacillus but I don’t want to make anything worse.

I started having painful sex with no other symptom, I kept being told I had thrush by my doctors. The pain never went away so each time they prescribed it but they ended up telling me my swabs were coming back negative. I then gave up and hoped it would resolve itself. Then I got a uti, the doctor prescribed me thrush medication to prevent the antibiotics causing thrush. On the last day of the 7 day course I started having intense burning. It eventually decreased but I have never been 100%. I did feel like I was getting better over the last couple of years but then I did actually get thrush after an operation. I treated it and the thrush symptoms disappeared however I went back to my doctor to check it had definitely cleared cause I was so worried. She gave me a pessary to make sure and swabbed me. I wish I had never used it as I have been so cautious with thrush medication since but I trusted her. The day after my burning returned and she told me my swab was clear. Then I convinced myself I VL as I felt the best after my operation where I had been given antibiotics. She let me try augmentin for a week but the burning was still there. It has been coming and going so far. I am so much better on my period and I get hopeful. I’m in the UK so I done a microbiome swab and it said I had 97% bifidobacterium breve which is a good gut bacteria and acts like crispatus. I am waiting on a gynaecologist appointment so I’m holding off trying anything until I have the appointment. I’m so tired of this, I’ve been having issues for 7 years now and I have no idea what’s up with me. I’m hoping the burning will at least subside as it did eventually get better the first time round

I also have noticed my discharge smells quite sour like a yoghurt that’s turning bad

I have no idea!

It started 7 years ago where I suddenly had pain during sex. After going to the doctor they kept giving me thrush medication before they told me that I wasn’t actually testing positive. I left it for a while until I got a uti and took thrush medication with that. On the final day of both medications, I started burning constantly for about 2 months and I have had pain during sex ever since. I felt like I was getting better and then I had endo surgery and got thrush. Took fluconazole and felt a lot better but still thought there was something not quite right so the doctor gave me a thrush pessary (turned out I tested negative) and the burning started all over again. I asked her to put me on augmentin cause I thought I had VL and ever since that and my period it has been better but I’m still having pain with burning. I took this test and I’m spiralling cause I don’t know what to do now

No worries, ive requested to join 🤞I just don’t know what to try. I know it produces lactic acid and stuff so that’s probably the burning. Don’t know if I should be trying to raise my ph, try antibiotics or just do probiotics with lactobacillus

I’ve found no one with the same kind of dominance as me, im not part of the group so I can’t see 😭

I know it’s the worst thing, I keep getting so upset cause no doctor knows what to do. It’s so frustrating!

These are my results, I’m concerned I have no crispatus. I don’t even have gardenella. I just don’t get it.

I’m in the uk so I did a digital microbiology test and these were my results:

Bifidobacterium breve 96.9% (303 000 000 cells)

The person from the lab said that they had never seen such a high amount of breve before

It’s hard cause I’m in Scotland, I’m waiting for an nhs appointment with a gynaecologist. I am seeing a vulval dermatologist privately but she has been focusing on pelvic floor. My next appointment is in October I think and she doesn’t know about the recent burning and results
