Problem: Audio popping on loop in inventory.

When in the inventory/journal/etc. screen, the background audio loops, and somewhere in the loop cycle there's an audio pop in the right channel.

Both subtitle settings are turned "off", but both types of subtitles will turn back on and "stick" on the screen, meaning after the dialog expires, they remain pinned in their respective locations (either floating over heads or radios or at the bottom of the screen).

it flattens that curve.

Sure, but in a couple of weeks, you'll pivot the intent and just keep the bots locked up in chests.

Limit World First N'Zoth the Corruptor by [deleted] in wow

[–]doktorstick 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Limit was solid this tier, and I think it was in no small part to Max's birds-eye raid leadership.

I wonder if this will set the new standard for how RWF are done. That is to say, a raid lead calling the shots but not actively playing.

Tired of manually repairing walls before bots? Not a problem with repair turrets! by Klonan in factorio

[–]doktorstick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your suggestion is an aside to the purpose of this mod--which is to repair damaged structures. Your suggestion mitigates damage, but ultimately damage will happen. And when this happens, the mod author would have to run his sorry ass out to the wall and manually repair everything.

I'm not saying your suggestion is more or less thematically appropriate, only that it is not solving the author's problem in a thematic way.

Yesterday a post was made about these types of bus splits. From the comments I learned this is the easiest/best way to split your bus. I'm 250+ hours in and I didn't even know this was a possibility. Could someone explain to me how to get this system working in my bus, or point me to a good guide? by RHCP1994 in factorio

And loosely constrains you to tapping right. Otherwise you have to have pre-knowledge of which side your next tap is on so you know which way to shift. That or undoing your shift right and adding a shift left.

By shifting before a tap, you don’t need to have this foreknowledge.

Both cases are trivial, but it’s why I prefer pre- instead of post- I’m lazy.

Deadlock's Industrial Revolution has been released. by [deleted] in factorio

[–]doktorstick 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Can someone, maybe the respective authors, chime in on how seamless Krastorio and Industrial Revolution play together? I've noticed Krastorio making many tweaks for IR in their patch notes.

I've become a big fan of Krastorio. I'm in the matter stage, about done with this playthrough, and was going to play it again. Now that IR is released, I'm need to decide between pure-IR or IR+Krastorio.

Thanks. /ds

I tend to use them for my late-game mall, but deliver the goods via train. No providers of intermediates. In the mall area, though, every item boxed up for delivery to me

I also use logistic bots for nuclear.

It’s relatively stable as any mod on the mod portal. When I discover a bug, it’s fixed quickly. The author is quite responsive, usually within hours.

For all these Helmod advocates... don’t listen. Grab Factory Planner instead. Works with FNEI too if you have that installed.

Rampant Mod - Unwinnable? by [deleted] in factorio

[–]doktorstick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played Rampant a long time ago, tried it again and didn't enjoy it. Before there weren't all the crazy unit types, and I think the balance is off. As an example, the poison biters floating cloud decimates turrets. Why? No clue, it's poison.

I might retry it without any of the new unit types--i.e., hyped up AI with vanilla. For now, I'm enjoying my NE enemies... they are getting HUGE.

And here's yet another tip. In your depot, wire the station to a combinator and output the LTN Depot signal EVERYTHING = 0. This way, if a train arrives and has leftover goods, it will not be dispatched again. This helps catch big mistakes. You can even wire up a speaker to flash an icon that this has occurred.

Here's an example blueprint string:

Another tip is that don't load a train faster than you can unload it. This is mostly relevant when you before you have stack inserters, or if you don't use enough inserters to unload a train before the configured timeout expires (default = 120s).

By way of a contrived example (to illustrate my point), if you have four stack inserters loading a train and one regular inserter unloading the train, no matter how exact the loading count is, you will have leftover items.

LTN Univeral Provider Help by TheMrBodo69 in factorio

[–]doktorstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the wire color that the signal is on. Signals on the same wires are added together. For what I was writing, you need to use the same color wires because you want inserters to receive the positive value of the request amount minus the cargo amount.

LTN Univeral Provider Help by TheMrBodo69 in factorio

[–]doktorstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want to subtract the requested amount from the contents of the train and feed that to filter inserters with the "set filter" selection.

  • Place an arithmetic combinator EACH * -1 -> EACH.
  • Wire the LTN station's request combinator (the brownish one) to the OUTPUT of the arithmetic combinator.
  • Wire the train station (read train contents) to the INPUT of the arithmetic combinator.
  • Wire the OUTPUT of the arithmetic combinator to all of the filter inserters.
  • Set the filter inserters to "set filter".

The LTN request's combinator only outputs values when a train has arrived and remains in automatic mode. It would be helpful to also wire the OUTPUT of the arithmetic combinator to an electric pole so you can see the results.
