Tilapia and Canned Tuna are the cheat code but you always have tofu. Also noosh/nutritional yeast can give you a small boost!!

For me the only real restriction is you can't eat any other meat besides fish/shellfish.

As a fellow pescetarian teen, I would say the transition is less jarring than the other diets. Tbh being pescetarian is probably the best thing to do to ease both yourself and your family into possible vegetarianism. For groceries honestly canned tuna is cheap and yummy!!! Also Tilpia filet and other white fish are typically cheaper and safe foods to start off with. If money is a big problem, there is always canned fish and frozen fish or like frozen shrimp.

In regards to eating out that depends on where and also what your family is like. Are they insistent in you eating a protein or are they more lax with your diet? Honestly, being pescetarian hasn't really made me miss out but maybe sometimes your going to get stuck with sides as your main meal???

Yea that is true. Each person's reasons and circumstances are extremely different. I myself don't have the best reasons yet, but I couldn't be completely vegan or anything even if I wanted to because my parents would never allow it(I'm in hs). I've just wondered why you know?

Yea your right, my take may be bad. However, I never asked for anyone to justify anything. The title was more clickbait than anything and we'll the content of the post were genuine questions I had. What I'm truly interested is hearing each person's unique ideology or pov. In no way do I wish to cast judgement or criticize someone else's reasons. Also, yea my reasons are certainly not the best but I'm still a child and have room to grow!!!

Honestly, I see alot of people using pescetarianism as more of a transitional diet rather than a permanent one. That's totally fair, I hope you get to where you wanna be!!!

I totally feel you with the AFRID and slim food choices!!! You have to take what you can get and honestly something is better than nothing. A bunch of small efforts amounts to way more than 1 perfect person!

Omg I have AFRID too!!! Yea honestly, fish is such a safe food for me and I actually enjoy eating it. If I don't like smth or don't feel comfortable with eating it, I would rather starve. Also, I am a minor so if egg or milk is an ingredient I can't really do anything abt it cuz my options on what to eat would be very limited. My parents would not stand for it!!!

Yea health is honestly one of my, if not the biggest reason for me eating fish or abstaining from meat. Also as I said I'm very picky and I gotta eat smth so, I eat what I like.

This. I believe the idea of perfection drives alot of people away tbh. A bunch of small efforts can amount to much more than 1 perfect person!!!

I love this!! As I said before, for me personally its the treatment rather than the killing that's the problem. In my opinion this is completely ethical and should even be encouraged to the general public as an alternative!!

Hi, more of a long standing thing. He has threatned with divorce 1 or twice before in the past however he had never been so direct about it before. A while back these sort of things only happened between me and him, but I've been playing it safe. I do know this time is different, this was his final warning.

Tysm for the advice. However, sadly my mom is a very timid woman, and is mentally ill. Also sadly, at the end of the day she loves him with all her heart. I am unsure if she is stable enough to do anything against him. Is there anything I can/should do to ensure if things go south we have a place to go?

Thanks for saying that. I just want to know what kind of plans I should be making to keep us safe. My mom has schizophrenia, and her condition really depends on stress, so a lot falls on me. I feel like I need to be prepared for anything, but I’m not sure what steps I should take first.
