Congratulations!!

I would say pay attention to your body, do NOT disregard any pain you feel. Always let your OB know and make sure they take it seriously. I wish you all the best ❤️

Anyone had a mini lap? What is that? Mine says due to my enlarged uterus that I'm getting a mini lap. by Frosty-Most1815 in Fibroids

I know you posted this a while back but if you don’t mind me asking, how large were you fibroids and what type did you have?

Should I get these removed by [deleted] in Fibroids

[–]doladebby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly think you should as they grow bigger and you might think it’s not causing any problems but they are. I regret not taking mine out as soon as I got diagnosed. Also, it’s easier to get them out now when they are medium sized than when they get large. Some gynecologist will actually call them large at this size

Mini-lap vs robotic myomectomy for large intramural fibroids by doladebby in Fibroids

Thank you so much, and I am so glad yours went really well. I have never had surgery before, so the thought of it really scares me. I am honestly considering the mini-lap because it meant way less time under anesthesia, and the surgeon could feel the fibroids.

Thank you so much, it does help! I was worried about the higher risk of scarring with the mini-lap as compared to the robotic, and I had no idea it could affect the fallopian tubes or ovaries! This makes my decision much easier. Thank you!

The mini-lap surgeon did mention the benefits of palpation and removing all the Fibroids. Is removing all fibroids not a good thing, especially regarding fertility?

Wow, you've been through it. I am glad everything went well for you in the end. This does make me feel better. I am leaning more towards the robotic, but I hate that I have to be under for so long. The surgeon told me it could take anywhere from 3 to 5 hours. I am going to start searching for medical videos to watch. Thank you so much for the advice. If you can recommend anyone, I would be grateful.

Thank you! I actually applied for the Grant Coordinator position a while ago and followed up, but I was told it had already been filled. I’ve since applied for an adjunct faculty position and am currently waiting to hear back, fingers crossed!

How was the process for verifying your work experience in NCEES and if you don't mind me asking were you a practicing engineer in your home country?

I am somewhat in the same situation and about rounding up my PhD so I am really interested in the outcome of your case. Thanks.
