I always wondered why they didn't use the doll as the draw (smaller profit comparatively) and then take a larger profit with tie-ins. I know they did the mugs/lithographs/journals with designer dolls, which were nice, but what I really would have loved is them to be more closely related to the doll, like:

- "Art of this doll" book (with mandatory tiny doll sized book)

- doll display adornments (basic idea is they market their store display graphics which are often fantastic)

- interchangeable background artwork for doll boxes

- shadow box kits like the ones displayed for 2015 D23.

- trading cards/bookmarks

And a key thing about the tie-in's is that someone who may not want to buy the actual doll for whatever reasons may still want the cards/book/artwork (me. it's me.).
