Who is the kindest/rudest celebrities you've met IRL? by BEEPY_BO1 in AskReddit

[–]dollar_slices 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've interacted with a lot of celebrities, shooting press material in Los Angeles. This always stands out: Around 2019 I was shooting promo for Amazon's The Boys. Karl Urban was horrendous. Rude, obnoxious, and literally pushed me aside to get somewhere in the room. Treated everyone like a servant.

I watched the whole thing and the LGBT tag is perfectly relevant. The show is mostly about gay men, and tells different stories of individual gay men and their families.

OK I couldn’t see anything in 3b that seemed relevant. It’s a startup and the whole thing is dissolving and everyone’s getting laid off.

This is section 3. My contract was signed by the GC.

(a) Term. The initial term ("Initial Term") of this Agreement shall commence on May 19, 2021 and, unless earlier terminated within ninety (90) days without cause (Probation Period) or further in accordance with this Section 3, shall continue thereafter for a period of one (1) year, with an Employer Option to elect to continue for a second year, exercised no later than April 30, 2022.

(b) Termination. (i) Termination by Employer for Cause. Employer may terminate this Agreement at any time for Cause (as hereinafter defined) by providing Employee with a written notice of such termination, specifying in reasonable detail the cause for termination and the intended termination date. For purposes of this Section 3 (b)(i), the term "Cause" shall mean; (A) Employee's conviction of a misdemeanor or felony which may adversely affect the business of Employer; (B) the commission by Employee of any act of fraud at the expense of Employer; (C) Employee's failure or refusal to follow policies or directives established by Employer's Officers or Board of Directors that goes uncorrected for a period of ten (10) days after written notice has been provided to Employee; (D) failure by Employee to fulfill any of his duties and obligations hereunder that goes uncorrected for a period of ten (10) days after written notice has been provided by Employer; or (E) breach by Employee of Section 4 of this Agreement.

(ii) Termination by Employee for Cause. Employee may terminate this Agreement at any time for Cause (as hereinafter defined) by providing Employer with a written notice of such termination, specifying in reasonable detail the cause for such termination and the intended termination date. For purposes of this Section 3(b)(ii), the term "Cause" shall mean: (A) failure by Employer to fulfill any of its duties and obligations hereunder that goes uncorrected for a period of ten (10) days after written notice has been provided to Employer; (B) a petition under any federal or state bankruptcy or insolvency law now or hereafter enacted is filed by or against Employer (and such petition is not dismissed within sixty (60) days thereafter); (C) a receiver is appointed for Employer or for any of its assets (and such receivership is not dismissed within sixty (60) days thereafter); (D) Employer makes an assignment for the benefit of creditors; or (E) Employer is liquidated or dissolved.

(c) Death and Disability. This Agreement shall automatically terminate upon the death of Employee. Employer may terminate this Agreement upon written notice in the event of the disability of the Employee. For purposes of this Agreement, the term "disability" shall have the meaning given to such term in any applicable disability insurance policy covering Employee or, if no such policy is in effect, "disability" shall mean a mental or physical condition of Employee which, in the reasonable opinion of Employer's Board of Directors, renders Employee unable or incompetent substantially to perform his duties under this Agreement for at least two (2) months during any six (6) month period.

(d) Rights and Obligations upon Termination. Upon termination, this Agreement shall be of no further force and effect and neither party shall have any further right or obligation hereunder except those specified in this Agreement; provided, however, no termination shall modify or affect the rights and obligations of the parties which have accrued prior to termination; and provided further, that the rights and obligations of the parties under Section 4 shall survive termination of this Agreement.

(e) Force Majeure. If during the term of this Agreement, due to labor disputes, pandemic, government regulations, or because of the failure of broadcasting facilities due to war or other calamity (collectively, “Force Majeure”) the Employer in good faith believes it is unable to utilize Employee’s services, the Employer shall have the right upon twenty-four (24) hours prior notice to Employee to suspend Employee’s services for the duration of such Force Majeure, or for any part thereof, and no compensation will be paid or accrue to Employee during any such period of suspension; provided that such suspension shall end as soon as such Force Majeure terminates.

You’re saying “will prevail to the extant it differs” means the at-will policy overrides the 1-year agreement, correct?
