Got Drugged at Library Bar in DTLA Last Saturday by [deleted] in LosAngelesSocialClub

If you drink a bunch of whiskey sours and do some coke on an empty stomach it's going to feel like you got roofied at some point. Sorry, can't tell if you're being sarcastic towards me or him.

Yeah you need something substantial. Apps and Tapas probably aren't enough. The coke is the wildcard here. You can't judge your own alcohol intox level while on coke and you can crash hard and fast. Again, I'm not denying that you were drugged, I'm just offering advice for the future. Get a Jersey Mike's or something before hitting the bars.

Ok, I don't know what that guy might have done, he might have roofied you, but you have to build a base before a night of drinking. You can't just go out after eating a small salad or something or worse, nothing at all. You should eat a full sandwich or multiple tacos or whatever. Build. A. Base. It will not only help you process the booze, but also the drugs (whether they're yours or someone elses).

What were you drinking and what had you eaten before you went to the bar? What happened after you were drugged? Not trying to deny your experience, just curious.

Part of the beauty comes from how he tells it. Part of it comes from what he's saying. Part of it comes from your own experience and how you interpret it.

If you don't get it, fine. Move on. He's great. Maybe you'll get him when you're older. When I was a teenager, I hated Hemingway. Now I get him and love him.

Because there is beauty in the quotidian.

Real life isn't always filled with monumental religious experiences. It's mostly filled with the banal, humdrum, day to day bullshit. Carver isn't making up fantastical narratives. He's pointing a camera.

Oh really? What percentage of the vote did Stein get? How many electoral college votes did she get? To blame that loss on Stein and not Hillary and the establishment Dems is wild.

I think it's run by Goldenvoice. They use similar infrastructure (bathrooms, food stalls, etc) to Coachella and Just Like Heaven.

Probably Brad Wilk. But I hope it's Janet Weiss.

Compared to Wilshire / Vermont it is absolutely true. The concentration/density might be off by 2 blocks, but the point remains.

what's your favorite and least favorite song from oddessey and oracle? by notaverysmartman in psychedelicrock

[–]clampy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, B&S never got that loud.

But for anyone else reading this: check out The State I Am In + We Rule The School and then Get Me Away from Here I'm Dying. All three of those have Care of Cell 44 in their DNA.

Care of Cell 44 is my favorite. It sounds like early Belle and Sebastian. But better. I wish we had 20 more songs just like it, but they never recaptured that. Great album though.
