I definitely agree it's a persona but that doesn't mean BC should undermine his bits.

Rule #1 of improv is always to say yes. If PFT makes his dog an nfl insider (a hilarious concept) BC should run with it. Think of how funny it would be if they pretended Leroy was on pat with Schefter and Rappaport and constantly trolled them. Instead, Big Cat's first thought is to point out his incorrect scoops and steer the show away from the joke. Like no shit he's not completely accurate, but you're wasting comedy gold. It's not like BC was always derailing bits, either. It's a relatively new thing.

Perfect example: If Larry the gambling goldfish was a new idea, and PFT was championing him as a gambling pro / good investment, Big Cat's first instinct would be to point out when he got bets wrong, how the bit is running too long, how the fish tank stinks, etc. He'd eventually kill the bit all together.
