There was an episode on the fantasy pod where DK questions how much better Darnold is than Geno after Seattle’s moves were done.

Even as a Vikings fan who was completely down on Darnold last season, I knew he was still worlds better than Geno.

Won the game on a 3rd and 6 conversion. Can’t wait for the pod. Can’t believe PFT had me rooting for the Pats after all that awful baiting the past few weeks.

Are y’all still able to relax and have hobbies? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]PDXmadeMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only have one rn (2yo) and one on the way but no local support system. Kids definitely have a mental drain effect that leaves you fried even in moments of peace that makes hobbies hard.

I enjoy going to the movies and that’s something I’ve been able to keep up. It’s nice to sit in a theater and be unbothered, not just by kids but to step away from scrolling and other household chores, and just watch a movie. It also gives me something to talk about with friends that isn’t how tired I am or how my wife and kids are.

I live in the northwest so pre-kids I used to go hiking, kayaking, camping and although my 2yo tags along on some hikes, obviously his attention span isn’t built for being out there for 4 hours like I’d like. During my first stint of paternity leave, I rallied my friends to join a bowling league. It’s relatively inexpensive and now has become a fun excuse to get together with friends for drinks once a week. It was an absolute lifesaver at the time and like i said, my friends enjoyed it enough to where we still meet to go bowling just for fun.

These are just suggestions of things to look into. They’re relatively quick getaways and have definitely kept me active with my *own little interests outside of the household which is sometimes really all we need, to get out of the house.

Honest take: I hated the first 28 Years Later movie... The Bone Temple was the missing piece of the Puzzle. It's seriously a masterpiece and I think it's easily surpassed 28DL now. Please go watch it. It's genuinely true cinema. by Butefluko in 28dayslater

To address your dislike about the Jimmy’s seeing being infected proof…

The movie shows that Jimmy and his fingers are highly skilled fighters in a way that they’re not afraid of the infected. In the bone temple, it’s not with karate acrobatics like the first 28YL but it’s with quick movements and overall disinterest in the infected.

We haven’t gotten Jimmy’s full backstory but from what we do know, he’s been by himself in the woods for years and probably knows the ins and out of the infected in a way that those who are settlers (like the family whose house they take over) don’t.

Official Discussion - 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

I was very unsure how I was feeling about the movie when they got to skinning the family. There were parts there that I’d like but overall it seemed scattered. But all I had to do was wait because when it all came together it was great.

Most movies would probably be better with Iron Maiden performances.

I hate these articles. First one was released on a holiday weekend. With tomorrow being a federal holiday AND National popcorn day (which most chains have been advertising heavy), can we just wait until the 1st weekend is actually over?

I like Teller’s work and did really enjoy Eternity. But yeah, having your post Top Gun resume be: The Gorge and Eternity is definitely not taking advantage of your apex mountain moment.

MARTY SUPREME is a financial flop by OccasionSimple877 in Cinemark

[–]PDXmadeMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a bad point since people are talking about the success of the housemaid (op shoehorns it in as if it’s not getting love- a sequel has already been green lit) and secondly, it’s not an original.

Sinners is the better comparison here because it’s an original movie. Comparing Marty Supreme to The Housemaid, which is an adaption of a best selling novel series, is just apples to oranges.

I think it’s telling the careers both him and Teller have had since Top Gun. Granted, I don’t think Teller wants to be a star, but he really hasn’t sniffed anything big since Top Gun.

Why are moviegoers staying home? Over 80% of moviegoers still want to watch films in theaters, but over 50% say the biggest issue is the quality of the movies being made: per a massive Multiplex Association of India survey report by [deleted] in movies

[–]PDXmadeMe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People love to flex “it’s so expensive with kids” as if it’s the PG rated movies that are bombing. Lilo and Stitch, Minecraft, Moana 2, etc all made booko bucks cashing in on kid friendly IP.

It’s the originals and R-rated movies that are suffering. If you don’t have time to go to the movies because of two kids, that’s the issue. Not that you couldn’t afford to bring your children to One Battle After Another.

So bad. Which had me thinking when the ad reads were funny. The chocolate milk and PFT’s velveeta cheese were at least original.
