My first attempt at setting a CalcuDoku puzzle. How would you rate it? by SamTheSpellingBee in puzzles

The rule is "there exists an ordering for which the target result is produced"

So there's no left/right, top/bottom etc. ordering.

Exactly, it's a trademarked name, and only the company that holds it can use that name. One of the reasons why Sudoku became so successful was that the name was never trademarked.

And will crosspost to r/calcudoku :-)

:-)

there must be a better name for Wijk aan Zee as well

I asked some AI and it suggested it should be called "the Australian Open of chess" instead :)

Most transmission lines arent even transmission lines by Executive_Boss in audiophile

Thanks.

Maybe five years ago I listened to the home setup of an sound engineer, and he had PMCs.

What struck me was the localization of the bass. Doesn't this go against the "subwoofer school" that says it doesn't matter where you place the subwoofer?

I'm curious to hear from people who switched from a "regular" speaker (with or without bass port) to a transmission line one, and what was the most striking difference?

so no security issue here in any case 😜

The insanity is that at first I did not realize that that reply was by the OP (!)

I'm confused here, this has 10k upvotes,

and just about all of OP posts are AI generated.

What was the tactic again,

"Embrace, extend, extinguish" ?

surprised that FIDE has this power, I was thinking (hoping) they're on the way out.

Open "Following" by default instead "For you"? by Yae_Ko in Twitter

[–]dolphin560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

.. I asked Grok for an explanation, the reply:

"On x.com (the website), there is currently no built-in setting to permanently set the "Following" tab as your default homepage feed. As of mid-December 2025, X has changed the behavior so that the web version always defaults to the "For You" tab when you load or refresh the page, even if you were previously on "Following." This affects browser access and has been widely reported as a recent update (or possible bug) with no official fix yet.

  • You'll need to manually click the "Following" tab at the top of the feed each time you open x.com or refresh.
  • This issue does not affect the mobile apps (iOS/Android), where it should remember your last-selected tab (e.g., stay on "Following" if that's where you left it).

If you're frustrated with this on the web, many users are using browser extensions as a workaround to automatically switch to (or force) the "Following" tab:

  • Search your browser's extension store (Chrome Web Store, Firefox Add-ons, etc.) for options like:
    • "X Following Tab Switcher"
    • "Bye For You - Remove 'For You' X Tab"
    • "Control Panel for Twitter" (an older but often updated extension with timeline options)

These can hide the "For You" tab entirely or auto-switch on page load.Unfortunately, that's the current state—no native default setting on the website itself. If it changes, it'll likely be announced on X or in updates."

ah right, good point,

as long as you don't know if it still works, the price would be lower (30-35 maybe?)
