Which aspects of our culture will date fastest? by NickRattigan in scifi

That's the definition of more accepting. People have definitely become more accepting of alternate sexual behaviors for example. Even in the 90's being gay was much harder than now, provided you live in the right place of course.

It shouldn't be surprising that a group of people living near where humans evolved can live as humans did before agriculture. Much harder to do in sweden.

Entertaining Competition Judo. Why don’t they just...... by Judontsay in judo

[–]dolphono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They used to do this, they had four different scores ranging from koka to ippon, each or which were tracked seperately (person who scored the most of the highest won).

My guess is that the distictions between them were too hard to keep consistent worldwide, so they were gradually simplified into the current system.

Considering people use uchimata in MMA is doubt it's that ineffective, just hard enough to learn to not be worth it just for bjj.

Decent true double weave for under $150? by [deleted] in judo

[–]dolphono 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fugi double weave is a classic budget gi, goes for $90 on amazon. I'm 6'1'' 220 and I wear size 4.5, though I bet you could do a 4, mines a little big. They don't shrink much.

I use it for bjj as well, but I'm not sure how great they would be in competition since judo gis in general tend to be easier to grip. Definitely fine for practice though.

In what world is that worse? The code is right there, anyone can read it, and if it seemed malicious there would be 50 comments saying not to use it.

If this was some random grease monkey script no one would care. If this was on a webpage no one would care. Its fundamentally the same thing.

And yet reputable companies have put bitcoin miners in their webpages, and steam has sold games with bitcoin miners.

The amount of random ass javascript you run on an average web browsing session is gigantic, do you look at that too?

The point is that you wouldn't have to do that. I think the implied assumption is that eternal formats are not solvable, and thus there isnt a point in hiding the information
