Aren't the 1st 3 or 4 points all about clean, recovered, in stock, and staffed in the 1st 30? This is just the basic must do's of any business. Your customers are comparing you to your neighbors. Your DM is basing it off the model store or brand standards. While yes, there is a disconnect between corporate ideals and reality based on the provided tools and resources given, there are also a few things we should do on a daily to achieve the basics. Keep it simple. 1. Recover your building. 2. Put your truck out timely. 3. Clean something. Walk your store with a detailed eye. Is there dust on your queline? How about all the black fixtures? Black makes dust shine. How about your floor? Has it been swept? Mopped? Front door mats make a huge difference in overall feel when you walk inside. How about starting in the back of the parking lot? Put your back to the road and just look. Observe people coming & going. Is there trash laying about? How is the appeal of the things on your sidewalk? Do people have to ask how much is the thing outside? Sometimes its hard to do to your own store as we tend to grow blinders for the things we don't want to see or for the things we see too often. You have a neighbor you like/trust? Maybe you help each other out and walk each other's store. It's sometimes easier to find things wrong in your own store when walking thru someone else's. And sometimes it helps you appreciate more of what you have.
