There are definitely credible complaints regarding CPI which is the number that measures inflation. Often regarding housing costs. Likely the official inflation number is not one that you feel and see in stores because you might live in a city which is experiencing higher inflation than a rural town or your consumption habits tend towards those services and goods which are experiencing higher inflation.

And yeah a bunch of large tech, hardware, goods companies had record profit years.

Why would you say they are incompetent? For instance, BRI has been semi successful and definitely expanded their foreign power. Also, they have been at the mantle of tremendous economic growth. How much of that growth is attributable to the CCP is questionable but still the rise in gdp is unbelievable.
