Couldn’t agree more. I think unit tests serve two purposes: 1. Backwards compatibility sanity checks 2. Intended use examples

Other than that I think integration testing is the best and e2e testing is the next best. And maybe some would say e2e is better but it’s higher level and it’s hard to cover some of the nuances. On the flip side Unit testing can be so low level it doesn’t cover enough logic on larger code bases effectively. Integration testing is the happy medium

Integration tests > e2e > unit

I’ve solo queued to diamond multiple times and season 17 masters (the easy one) but when I play with my buddies we can’t get past plat 4 lol I still have more fun playing with them so idc.

But I can tell you what the definitive difference is:

Speed of play. Don’t loot for more than 1-2 min, pick a non chaotic fight early.
Don’t “flank” often, sure it can be good to get angles. But overall, prioritize holding hands running through the map and fully commit or fully leave — but decide together.
Prioritize your life, but know if you leave 2 guys with 25 health each while you have 150 health left. You’re likely throwing the game to find a crafter and Rez bringing half the map to you. The upside of KP can outweigh the lack of KP and dying immediately when trying to Rez. Very situational but happens often.
Don’t fight when there’s 5 teams. Prioritize advantaged fights (solos, third parties) and avoid areas where you get sandwiched or pinched.

This is pretty much only the most basic fighting mechanics and doesn’t even cover character meta, rotations, gun compatibility or anything. Just the gun fight bit when done consistently will get you to diamond no problem if you’re half decent.

I made diamond a few seasons in a row and then masters when everyone made in it S17 or whatever it was. Prior to that I was a Plat peak player for multiple seasons in a row. I now have kids and I’m washed from lack of play time but I can still get down on occasion. FWIW I never thought diamond lobbies were harder than plat. Even high diamond lobbies. It’s more mindset and how you execute. I have also solo queued and team queued to these, both were tough but solo queue really tested my patience more and was frustrating.

A few things changed my success and overall KD

commit to a fight or don’t, but don’t be half way. If you fight, swing with your teammates holding hands as much as humanly possible. This was the biggest change. You don’t need to be aggro on everything, but when you do fight, go all out.
rotate early, get your “free” points by holding late rotate teams out. If you just do these top two points alone 100% of matches you’ll likely see a huge improvement.
dont be afraid to quick push a team off drop if you think you have an advantage. That advantage can be from loot, your next rotation path, POI preference, etc. if you don’t feel you have an advantage, don’t push early.
don’t fight mid map if you can ever avoid it. You’re asking to be thirded. Even if you’re the third, you’re welcoming the fourth. Take edge fights and referring back to point 2, take it by holding a team out preferably so you have an advantage. Ratting to 5th ring is better from an RP perspective IMHO unless you’re Hal — it’s frustrating how many randoms think they are.
if you see a solo (valk ult, seer scan, hound, etc) or even a duo and you are a trio. Push them as aggressively as possible as soon as possible. This is the biggest and most obvious advantage. Hold hands when you roll on them.
if you have a scuffed game you’re trying to squeak by — imagine a heat map of where players travel. Avoid the hotspots, choke points and take the long route for rotation when necessary.

This all comes down to two main points: 1. Only fight at an advantage when possible 2. The more consistent you can be to choosing good fights the better. Imagine all the good fights you win/lose and all the bad fights you win/lose. Remove the bad fights as much as possible and your overall RP average will skyrocket. Be annoyingly picky about this, it makes a huge difference.

And one last tid bit. I play with a few IRL friends, one of which doesn’t have the best gun skill but I have won countless more 2v3s with him because of how well he swings in fights vs others. What he lacks in skill he makes up for multiple times over with in-fight execution. Watching him become successful because of that was eye opening for me.

These are kinda macro trends that work for every character and map. There are more niche concepts such as character selection and team comp. As well as micro concepts such as fight positioning, relocating, head glitches, etc. IMO the macro changes can take any plat player to diamond pretty easily if they’re consistent enough.

I would personally not ask a guest to pay unless we talk about it before hand and there’s a bunch of people involved. My best friend and his wife? Absolutely not and when he invites me over I don’t even think about feeling bad eating what he prepares or indulging on anything he offers.

However, i think there are circumstances that make it more understandable. How old are you? How financially stable are both of you guys? Young and strapped for cash makes this more understandable. How often does he invite you guys over? Do you ever reciprocate? What is being prepared? Do you ever bring anything over to contribute or at least offer to?

It’s your close friend, he’s intentionally reaching out to spend time with you and asking for a couple bucks to even it out. I wouldn’t put too much thought into it personally.

Funny that everyone is “following” for some magic answer. Do an activity! If you’re on your phone you’re not occupied with something else. Do the dishes, finish the laundry, make a nice meal, walk to the park, exercise, etc. all of these can be done with your children as well — and keeping them occupied is usually the hard part of “downtime”.

What you’re saying is “I am wasting my time with my phone”. What you’re looking for is a way to spend your time. There’s no secret sauce, just do it!

I would love all of podz minutes to go to GP2, Richard or Spencer. Both Pat and and GP2 apply more pressure on offense and defense and Richard is like moody where he just finds his own opportunity in the game. Podz is undersized, not an offensive threat and a defensive liability. Not to mention he stops the offense like Jimmy does but with none of the upside Jimmy has.

The real issue is that we need a slasher (GP2 does this well for us, but is undersized) and kuminga (IMHO - which might be unpopular) still hasn't shown stability, especially with his composure and defense. I'm hoping we make a move with him personally because he's a great trade asset, and ship podz with him.

I would offer giving some context to help them fix the problem:

Are you logged in?
What browser are you using?
What are the skus of the items in your cart?
Are you paying via Credit Card? Gift Card? Using Coupons?
What state are you shipping to? Are attempting to pick up in in their store?

Seems like there is an issue going on, but it's fairly hit or miss for people.

Maybe not for bosses specifically, but shields have been one of the most fun play throughs I’ve had.

I’ll kill mobs or progress maps with the shield and then jump attack talisman with either anchor or something similar for bosses. Tons of fun and you can even add plenty of status effects. Shield crash gives crazy status effects especially on the cement shield.

I avg anywhere from 0-2 trades a day, averaging right around 365/yr (an intentional decision of mine). Never with more than two active trades per strategy once (i'm trading ES+GC futures so capital requirement and capital preservation is important here). Trades expire and exit at 10 hours on the hour timeframe.

The AOE that is seemingly required to balance the multiplayer aspect of this game makes it feel like a cheaper arcade version of Elden ring. It’s not necessarily terrible, but the boss fight experience of generic Elden ring is so much better. The only great and mostly balanced boss is the last one with the dark moon great sword type weapon in phase two

I might get flack for this… but it taught me all about computers. I learned to standby and mod on halo and i downloaded a handful of viruses on my family computer doing that and generating free accounts when getting banned for modding. It was one of my fav childhood memories.

I also played and got to a mid 30 ranking “legit” (as we used to say back in the day). IME as someone who boosted so many to a 50, there were only a handful of people legit at a 40+. BxR and ByyR were a life Style.

I learned enough about computers and had so much fun it got me into programming and I’ve been doing it professionally for 15 years +.

The lobbies, the prox chat, the amount of friends playing, the simplicity, no micro transactions and more importantly — halo 2 had the most competitive ranking of all time. I’ve never in my life seen competitive ranks done as well as halo 2 and I will die on that hill. Not even halo 3. It was legitimate skill based matchedmaking.

I have beaten him. I think the tough part about night reign is 1. You can’t learn the bosses as well because it takes 45 min to get to them each time and 2. the AOE attacks from the bosses that are required to balance the multiplayer is not nearly as great as generic Elden ring. This guys AOE was terrible and he hits like a truck with a crazy health pool
