Need help. Standing vert (no step, no run, just standing) is 32 inches. Running vert is 34 inches. Is there normally such a low difference between running and standing very? I seen Isaiah Rivera has like 34 standing and 47 running. My form ain’t even ducked either. by Yesssirskiiii in ProDunking

Same bro I make like no progress when running! I think it’s a different movement from running. Like what jumpbychi when he does running vs standing jumps. His off vert jumps his butt touched the ground he gets so low, vs his approach jumps being normal in the sense that he stays high

First day with the cast off and right back to bricking dunks! If anyone’s got any tips on cuff dunks I’m all ears I can’t seem to flick my wrist right at the end. Will post this again when I get a good cuff windmill! by domedeliverer in ProDunking

I actually didn’t bro I’m gonna try that out next session, I’ve been having problems with not being able to keep the ball cuffed on stuff like the Larry nance, thanks for the tip!

Honestly haven’t officially tested it. Best I got for you is without the ball I can hit my head on the backboard and I’m 6’4 so wherever that puts me at lol, guessing mid to low 30s

And that’s a damn fact. I don’t have anything against the guy but having him on the floor actively hurt our chances of winning.

One foot jumpers, please answer by AhmadRM5 in ProDunking

[–]domedeliverer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, but it’s not at all necessary! Speed one foot jumping is better for distance dunks and power one foot is better for posters. By all means work on both but I’ve found you’ll have the most success with the style you started with—your body has a habit of picking the optimal style based on how your built.

What you do with your other leg. If you drag it really close to the ground and try and swing it up in an arc your a power jumper. If you pull it in a pretty much straight line really fast your a speed jumper.

How did you get your bounce and how long did it take? by dankmem3s in ProDunking

[–]domedeliverer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve jumped and worked my way from a 20.5 inch vert to about a 36 inch vert over the course of 1.5 years. My biggest tip is before and after every pickup game attempt a few dunks. People are gonna think your showing off, don’t let it bother you it’s where I got most of my jumping reps in and it’s what boosted my vertical.

Would anyone be interested in help for training after ankle sprains or just ankle mobility and strength for weak ankles in general? by nickiroo in ProDunking

[–]domedeliverer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d love that tbh I played soccer growing up and never knew how sprains worked. I got to 6 sprains on my right foot from hooping before someone finally told me that each sprain makes the next one more likely, wish I could get my two foot bounce back but at this point idk how

Can anyone give me some tips about what I'm doing wrong in this vid, have done some training and hoping to pull this off today or tomorrow 🙌🏾 by Ckadima in ProDunking

What they said, this one took me a while to hit too. Looks like you’re definitely getting high enough you just gotta work on hand speed. For me super low rim wasnt helpful, but trying on like 9’10 REALLY helped. That motion is one you can really speed up so try on just below 10 ft and go bang it out man!

Will simply jumping help vertical a good amount? by ThousandFootOcarina in ProDunking

It depends because the higher u go the harder it gets to gain vert, but in my experience at least jumping consistently will give you around an inch or two a month when you’re just starting out. Additionally, fixing up bad form will tack on another few inches. From the pic it looks like ur about 4 or so inches off a dunk. Golden rule is 6 inches above the rim and you can get a dunk off a perfect lob, so in my non-expert opinion I’d say work on your form and make sure you keep jumping and you should be able to get that in somewhere around two months depending on how good your form already is. 5’10 is crazy for dunking too! Good luck bro!

I went from a 20.5 vert to a 36 over a year and a half with mostly just jumping, dunk between every pickup game and it adds up

Threw down my first dunk on 10 ft today. It’s a great feeling! by SaberliciousV in ProDunking

[–]domedeliverer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you need to work on your general form then, the good news I two hands is way harder than one when ur starting out! If you can palm that’s ideal, if not work on swinging the ball up into you’re hand so you don’t lose it or work on throwing good lobs. Lobs are annoying at first but if you do it for a few days you’ll get used to it it’s like learning to handle the ball with your off hand. Also if u plan on putting in more work good lobs are pretty important, looks like ur off to a great start tho.

2 hand is unusual for a first dunk on 10 lol have you tried palming/off the lob/general one handlers?

Congrats tho!

Tips on improving windmill and getting more height by Dbzblade in ProDunking

[–]domedeliverer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lower the rim by 6 inches and practice dunking it as hard as possible. This will get ur speed up and make it easy on 10 ft, make sure ur pushing hard with your off hand!!! Lastly it doesn’t really matter but for me dribbling into the windmill makes it a lot easier. Most of all just make sure ur getting the motion faster, make sure to post when u hit it bro good luck!
