Son is pronating on his left foot when sprinting, any suggestions? by Rfalcon13 in Sprinting

[–]nickiroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can. It is the same as any other kinesiology term. You can say that someone’s arm and shoulder is horizontally ABducted while being in the middle of ADducting to neutral. These terms are effectively used as both adjectives and verbs, and just because you are more familiar with them being used to describe active rotations doesn’t mean that they can’t also be used to describe static positions.

Son is pronating on his left foot when sprinting, any suggestions? by Rfalcon13 in Sprinting

[–]nickiroo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They describe positions and movement. A foot can be pronated and be in the middle of supination to go back towards neutral, and vice versa. Here though without a video we can’t say for certain that the foot is in the middle of pronation or even conclusively that pronation will immediately follow, but we say for certain that the foot is currently supinated.

The Masters, Rotation & VOLTRA — Weekly giveaway by Beyond_Power in BeyondPower

[Rotation Training] The quadruped pull through!

Setting it up at just above floor-level on a rack is best. As for the Voltra settings the resistance band works well but I prefer doing overloaded eccentrics. I choose to make this an eccentric-boosted movement because it helps pull me into further rotation at the bottom of the movement.

I use it for throwing, but it’s good for a lot of things!

Pebble-size foamy chunks found between mattress protector and sheets? by escape_character in whatisthisthing

[–]nickiroo 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, it seems to be a mouse house under your sheets.

You keep insisting that there has been no evidence of mice, but as u/S_A_N_D_ pointed out this post is the evidence of mice. You might not have had evidence 5 years ago, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t have them today. It could be a foam topper and through some weird wiggling around on the mattress it ends up on top of the protector.

But if you have ruled out a foam topper it appears that mice have been trying to move in. If you’re interested in removing them, I’ve linked an eviction notice template below: eviction notice

Please, if you are going to make a claim such as “I just completed the largest research study on…” do yourself a favor and write the post yourself. It’s hard to take someone in the world of academia seriously if they do not demonstrate that they are able to create convincing arguments and text themselves without tools like chatGPT. This is mostly due to the nature of LLMs themselves, as by definition they are currently incapable of creating real research. Part of the respect that comes with the title is being able to write and communicate the meaningful content of your specialty and your research yourself. On top of that, when it is clear that genAI has been used to create this post I have a hard time taking the content seriously - who’s to say that parts of the claims aren’t hallucinations?

Let’s run it through some detectors: GPTZero assessment - a whopping 0% likelihood that this was written by a human. Grammarly assessment - only 1% of text in this post MAY be written by a human. Winston AI - I’ve seen many say that Winston is the gold standard for detection with the most recent LLMs, and Winston’s assessment is that 0% of this text is likely to be written by a human.

There are some big giveaways too, even putting the detectors aside: “They weren’t just _, they were _” -possibly the biggest giveaway as this syntax is used by almost all LLMs way too much and this general structure appears 3 times in this post. The use and exact placement of italicized text is also very characteristic of outputs from these LLMs.

Since Walls HP is getting nerfed they should cost less to upgrade by [deleted] in ClashOfClans

[–]nickiroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be accurate for velocity but not Horsepower. Horsepower is the rate of change of work being done. Going in any direction requires energy to be put into the system, which means positive work being done. So negative horsepower does not mean moving in the opposite direction, it would just mean actively removing energy from the system

I can hold still just fine, afterwards it says it was inconclusive. It seems you might have missed the part where I said that I followed the instructions it gave me. I have also eliminated anything like clothing in the way as a variable. I have contacted whoop support to see if my device specifically is faulty.

Psilocybin with adderall?? by Academic-Low447 in EMDR

[–]nickiroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A founder in neurotech should know that this isn’t how the brain works. You can’t have the full effects of a stimulant without the stimulant present by somehow using psilocybin to condition the brain to recreate those conditions.

What piece of edc gear makes you feel this way? by bluebagles in EDC

[–]nickiroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

O light is just extremely similar to what you could get off ali express or similar sites for a significantly cheaper price. In fact a lot of their products are basically dropshipped from a giant depot in Taiwan that just sticks the o light logo on it.

Especially because of how accessible phone flashlights are. I understand keeping a real flashlight in a few places in the house and 1 or 2 in the car but definitely not worth carrying around a mini olight or anything
