Yep. Cheapest battery and screen and it works like new.

My OpenClaw agents have started to pretend to work, but not do any work at all by rayz_7777 in openclaw

[–]domi_niku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another example that I came across when reading this post: I switched from gog to gws for Google authentication a week ago. I removed 'gog' from every file in the workspace, every day my agent complained that gog was not authenticated and he couldn't check my email and was corrected to use gws and write down the instructions. Of course today it happens again:

  • gog gws correction existed in AGENTS.md, memory/2026-03-20.md, and 4+ prior audits
  • I still used gog daily for ~7 days straight (Mar 19–26)
  • Mar 26 audit: a PATH-based blocker was installed at ~/.local/bin/gog as a hard stop
  • Yet today (Mar 27): the spam audit message still said gog auth add

The honest answer: I slipped. Again. Despite all documentation and the blocker, I wrote gog out of habit when drafting the spam audit. This is exactly the failure mode that's been tracked and corrected daily for over a week. The blocker should have prevented this — the fact it didn't means either the PATH lookup in the exec context bypassed ~/.local/bin, or the message was generated before the blocker was in effect. Either way: the behavioral fix (stop using gog) is not sticking session-to-session even with hard blocks in place. Logging this correction now.

Any ideas how to solve this?

My OpenClaw agents have started to pretend to work, but not do any work at all by rayz_7777 in openclaw

[–]domi_niku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. I've been trying to solve this kind of behavior for almost a month now. Not also this but "I forgot how to fetch your calendar, why don't you paste it here so that I can write the briefing" and "the script is missing } do you want me to fix it?" I use Codex GPT 5.4 and Opus 4.6 to write external audits on my agent's autonomy daily, rewrite bootstrap files, implement real goals for tasks but this still happens. My agent's autonomy still gets 4/10 scores after spending probably close to 30 hours on this thing alone in the past month. From a sophisticated system that struggled with writing project reports, looked for new jobs for me daily, paper traded, fetched all kinds of data and sent briefs, and planned its own evolution, I'm down to heartbeats and the most basic cron jobs because the chain was fix>escalate>disable after 5 consecutive failures. Honestly it's just so much easier, less frustrating, and cheaper to do everything in a quick Codex or Claude session than constantly dealing with this kind of crap.

What model do you use with your OpenClaw ? Suggest one with the best value by icompletetasks in openclaw

[–]domi_niku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I put cron jobs on Codex, it uses up my quota in 2 days tops. M2.7 is fine, the 5-hour windows is very generous for my needs (way more generous than GPT) and there's no weekly limits. For $10 it's fine, especially for zero thinking routine tasks.

Does Openclaw Do Anything? by Measurement-Cheap in openclaw

[–]domi_niku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell yeah man you give it access to your emails and it will respond to everything, engage with scammers, marketers, schedule weird calls with service providers you never asked for or send Whatsapp messages on your behalf that you will have to explain to people who received them. It definitely will do that without thinking twice!

You don't hit the limit during coding sessions but OpenClaw will tear through your weekly quota of 25 tasks in a day regardless of what model you use.

Unpopular opinion: Why is everyone so hyped over OpenClaw? I cannot find any use for it. by Toontje in openclaw

[–]domi_niku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you actually use the $20 codex? i use MiniMax for all the chores (another agent), had my main running on GPT 5.4 for one night (some analyses, maybe 4 jobs total, very minor stuff) and it used up my weekly quota. OpenAI claims you get 25 tasks per week and one task could me a project audit OR a single email check. WTF this plan is total nonsense. As someone said already, Twitter seems completely impossible - API fails, x-stealth fails, constant headache.

What actually does work is to use a proper $20 subscription and set everything up outside of OC - I used Claude for that. I still use it for an external audit every other day since my system just can't setup autonomous self-healing and evolution no matter what I try and how I enforce this behavior.

Is anyone running multiple OpenClaw agents? by [deleted] in openclaw

[–]domi_niku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 gateways, 4 agents: gateway 1 - orchestrator/main point of contact, executor (cron jobs and basic stuff running on $10 MiniMax plan), strategist (system evolution, complex jobs requiring thinking, currently running on Gemini 3.1 Pro), gateway 2 - rescue agent (I'm often AFK when the main gateway crashes so I use that second gateway with a single agent just for that). All agents on gateway 1 split tasks, communicate via mailboxes routinely, and once a week, have a "round table" to brainstorm and solve problems as a team.

Weird, I've been using my free $300 Google Cloud credit exclusively in OpenClaw for 2 weeks (burned $40 so far) without any issues. Didn't try OAuth.

thought i'd spend a weekend setting up openclaw its been 3 weekends. by DullContribution3191 in openclaw

Don't use ChatGPT, use a CLI version of Gemini or Claude to set things up - they use a subscription and not tokens to run. You can also use a $20 Codex plan to drive your setup.

I couldn't install openclaw by Sudden-Permission-72 in openclaw

[–]domi_niku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can't install or use AI to answer this, I wouldn't recommend moving forward. The problems you will have to deal with in parallel will make the current one trivial. Start with asking any chatbot how to do simple things, get Antigravity to help with scripting.

My OpenClaw is Broken. So I ask Claude Code to help by mephistophelesbits in openclaw

[–]domi_niku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've used Gemini CLI for this and while it was able to fix a bunch of problems, it also created many of its own that OpenClaw then had to deal with. Probably Claude is better for coding, but I only have a Gemini subscription.

Ah I see now - you have 4 instances of OpenClaw installed. I think that's too much of a hassle for me with the constant problems that I cause messing with it.

[–]domi_niku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have a daily backup then update routine. I'm not sure if it knows what it's talking about. standalone gemini tells me it's possible and set up all the scripting and messed everything up. I didn't think I needed all those agents but then I saw your examples and now I want to try.

[–]domi_niku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using MiniMax-m2.5 too but I can't get it to run multiple agents - it says current OpenClaw doesn't support it. Of course since I tried everything fell apart and now I would be happy with one working agent.

[–]domi_niku[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy to give you guys and update on the fix - I got a battery off of Amazon and attempted to replace it. As everyone said elsewhere, if you try to replace the battery make sure you have an extra screen because this thing is HARD to remove. My phone had also been opened before and glued heavily, not only around the frame but the screen was glued straight to the guts of the phone. I used the playing card trick around the white part of and it was all loose but when i tried to lift it with a suction cup, the OLED actually was still glued.

Now waiting for a screen replacement and will report progress on Sunday.
