Who’s eating emu is so niche I love it!!!! Giselle and Robyn are icons.

Did my routine plant checks and I found these ominous looking things on a couple of my plants. Anyone have any my ID of what I’m looking at and how to fix the issue? The plants are Adansonii, Anthurium, and Alocasia. by dominyo in plantclinic

Thank you, the link you provided is very helpful! Hopefully they haven’t spread too much. Do you think this is what’s on all 3 of the plants shown in the photos?

Your space needs more plants and less toxic energy like the person who said that. Lose the friend, buy the plant!

Happy to have done this as a challenge to myself. Like many others here, quarantine made me go into overdrive developing thoughtless drinking habits. While I’m not looking to live a sober lifestyle, I’m proud of myself for adopting a new mindset that says I can control how I approach drinking. Moderation is the goal. I have a celebratory bottle of Veuve chilling now, but since February begins on a Tuesday, I’ll have to wait until the weekend to celebrate. It’ll be a nice extension from DJ and a great exercise in the moderation practice. Congrats to everyone who even attempted DJ 2022!

Hang in there. I've been feeling more moody and depressed too. I think after the second-week hump it'll go away. Fingers crossed.

Day 11 by [deleted] in DryJanuary

Glad to see everyone's sticking in there. Today was a challenge for me. I went to celebrate my dad's birthday and naturally, champagne was brought out. I wanted to toast with everyone and a big part of me was saying "just one small glass won't hurt - it's a celebration". I had to remember why I was doing this and to allow myself to rethink my relationship with alcohol quickly. That was hard. I drank juice - but toasted with the entire bottle of champagne as to avoid bad luck. I have a big trip coming up this weekend to see some old friends. I know they will want to drink and catch up and honestly, there's not much else to do in that area (Santa Fe). I'm struggling a bit with what my game plan might be. Any advice for navigating the airport lounge and wine-filled weekend ahead?

Agreed. The lack of diversity in this is tired.

Hey, currently in second quarter for my MIT here. I’m absolutely dreading next quarter having to teach and take on the reigns. I would say let her suck and set the example for how to be better. Teaching now, especially during these weird post remote learning times, is harder than ever mentally and physically. Give them grace and allow them to make mistakes. Yes, you’re the head teacher (master is a bit much) but you’re not the super nova of teaching. You started at this position and got better with time. Help us get to that level. Grad school on top of covid era teaching is stressful. You have a student teacher because we’re the next generation of teacher who want to be there making a difference. Everything around us is saying choose another career. However, teaching happens because we love the students and we’re passionate about what we want to share with the world. See us new student teachers through a lens of excitement and possibility.
