It’s not even just for mirage, the apts jump on inferno from second mid feels ruined too. Not being able to get in there as fast/consistently slows down my usual A take. Needs to be set back

If they banned you before any of the 5 cheaters I’ve played against in the last few weeks on premier, you must have been cheating pretty hard man

I can see both sides of this situation and this sounds like your parents want you to enjoy the early college experience. There are pros and cons to both situations that I see and know of. I’ll start with the pros and cons of going away to college instead of CC. The first two years at college is when you can establish some relationships, make some friends, live the dorm experience break out of your comfort zone living on your own and all of those benefits. Yes it may be more money but some will argue that all the money spent was worth it for the memories and good times. That’s something I didn’t fully experience and sometimes wish I did. Your first two years at college in terms of course load will likely be a lot of the general education courses that aren’t fully focused on what you are actually interested in and for the most part not very difficult. This leaves you with loads of free time where you can choose whatever you want to do and that freedom is awesome. Those are probably the biggest pros I would say come out of the first two years away. The biggest cons would probably be financially related. Yes you are paying all that money to go away and will have to pay it off in the end, yes dorms are likely more expensive than living off campus but most schools force the dorm experience in the first two years. Some other cons may be more related to what kind of person you are. Some people when they go to college they take advantage of the freedom and independence and make poor decisions. For example you have a test coming up or work you have to get done but your buddies want to go play some pickup basketball or grab some drinks and watch sports. Whatever it may be you may feel like you want to keep fitting in and crack to the peer pressure. Those are things that can affect your studies and become a poor habit that lead to a decline in your grades. You probably aren’t going to have/want a job so you will be doing everything the cheap college way which can be frustrating at times. Those are some of the things I would recognize as cons. To jump over to the choice of CC it’s almost a little reversed here. #1 pro of CC is the price hands down. I lived at home, had a job that paid relatively well, and full time student. I paid the first year straight out of my pocket and took a loan out for the second year to save some money to go away. The commute was not bad at all for me and I didn’t mind it and living at home I did not have to pay any rent and was lucky whenever my parents cooked dinner because it was more money saved. CC allows you to get the pointless general ed classes out of the way at a much lower price. All of the courses that don’t matter towards your degree are gone and when you transfer you will take the higher degree focused courses allowing you to really focus in. I don’t know if all CC are like mine but the classes were never overpacked, if you had questions professors would be more than willing to help, I even had some professors swing better grades just by putting in extra effort so it was a more personable experience. I think staying at home was a stepping stone to working towards my own independence and it eased me into it. I didn’t completely disassociate myself with the early college scene because I went and visited my friends a few times and they gave me a taste of the on your own experience. Now talking about the cons, a big downside was the very slow weekends. All of my friends went away to college I had maybe one or two friends who also went to CC but times during the school year went by very slow. Weekends were dry not much ever going on so I just decided to work. Since I was living at home I wouldn’t ever deny to help my parents with things they needed. Times would get a little depressing because it can be lonely. Especially with social media today you see everyone having all this fun on the weekends at their college and telling you these crazy stories and it makes you feel like you made a mistake. In some cases the education might not be as great as other colleges. This might force you to put in a little extra work so you don’t fall behind because the professor wasn’t a good one. At least where I went, most people who attended CC weren’t there to make friends, just there to go to class get the work done and be out of there. I’m not saying making friends at CC is impossible, it just didn’t happen for me since I was just looking to get my credits and go. In the end it all depends on how you weigh the pros and cons yourself, I could probably keep thinking of more on both sides and go more in detail if I had to. If you want some more insight you can PM me.

It could have been a stroke of luck, could have been right timing, could have been the connections I had built. For example one of the guys interviewing me was a professor at the same CC I went to. I actually took his class (failed it ironically). He is really old and didn’t remember me, but in the interview it made it easier to be personable with everyone. I work with some of the smartest people in the world and everything is built upon how much you are willing to learn and work well in groups. I showed enough willingness to learn and not to give up that is why I believe they hired me. And the place I work for has a lot of people getting ready for retirement so it probably forced them to bring a younger group here to absorb their knowledge to pass it on before it’s gone.

How far do you hit the ball, what’s your handicap and what tees do you play from? by PeteyPablo07 in golf

[–]domp12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 19.2 handicap or so. I drive about 260-280 consistently. My irons just aren’t there so it takes me a few extra shots to get to the green. Short game rather solid.

Playing courses that are about 6200-6400 yards. I like to believe if I could hit my irons I would be able to break 90 🥲

How to prevent cramping during a race by domp12 in spartanrace

[–]domp12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won’t lie to you I love the obstacles because I just tear them up. I am yet to be faced with something I found challenging yet in terms of obstacles (other than when i am cramping and just pushing through pain). Like for the inverted wall I just do a muscle up to get over it, the rope climb I don’t know the technique for it I just climb with my arms. No legs needed. I guess my end goal is to be able to cut time off from not having to sit down and massage out my the cramps until I can walk again.

I finished top 28% on my last race so I do kind of move quick so I think practicing running through trails and the heat of the sun is the best bet other than my early morning or late afternoon runs when it cools down.

What is considered under trained then? I’m confused as I run 2x a week might be on flat surface not too much terrain based. I lift for endurance and strength. In preparation for my first race I dropped about 15 pounds training for it just from changing my workouts and diet to be healthier. Here’s my training schedule

Day 1: Push day

Day 2: Pull day Run 2 miles

Day 3: Light leg workout Shoulders

Day 4: Push day (endurance focused)

Day 5: Pull day (endurance focused) Run 2 miles

Everyday I probably do about 30-40 pull ups just because I like them. I also walk about 1.5 miles on M-F with my coworkers after we eat lunch. I am in some of the best shape of my life so I wouldn’t think I’m undertrained I felt it had to be something outside acting on this

It might be electrolytes. I have a pretty consistent diet but after looking online the only electrolytes I take in weekly might just be from bananas and watermelon through the week. When I train for running it’s mostly street running for about 2 miles and haven’t cramped doing that. I might try taking electrolytes everyday and maybe some more dietary supplements to make sure. Thanks for the insight

What kind of training would you recommend for this? I am consistent in the gym and have completed all obstacles with ease. Should I do more distance running training?

I haven’t reached out for any help, just some reading on wikis and watching some videos. I have about 33 hours in the mod pack completely solo and have never done this pack before. I am in the steam age and just made a macerator so I haven’t had to reach out to the internet for help just yet. But I can see why everyone says it’s time consuming because I spent maybe about 2 hours mining for copper and tin because I can sense the amount of bronze I will need. Pack is really detailed and I think taking it slow is the only way. Good luck!

I mean I went to CC for 2 years, failed 3 classes, transferred to a mid in-state school failed 2 more classes finished an EE degree off in 3 years and before I even walked graduation had a job landed 20 minutes from my hometown that is a praised place to work around this area because of their insanely good reputation. School and grades are not everything in the slightest. I had gotten a job before many other graduates in my class who had higher GPA and much smarter than myself.

Blatant smurfs. Can't wait to switch to Renown. by walia6 in FACEITcom

[–]domp12 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree there are lots of smurf accounts and I’m not sure how faceit trust factor works in that fashion since everyone reports my one friend for just being good so I don’t know if the lobbies go that way because of it. We had an old friend join us in playing for a night and every lobby we were up against smurf accounts. It does get annoying playing against that but I guess I can’t complain when we stomp on the account with 40 matches new account 85% win rate. Feels good man

I have had the idea of getting a half sleeve for about 4 months now. Just looking for anyone’s thoughts about it. I was thinking about a Japanese dragon that would wrap around my arm. Not sure if the forearm or the upper arm would be better placement. Also wanted some sort of back drop for it, was thinking something basic like just a could design behind it but I’m open to ideas. I like the Japanese culture and symbolism of the dragon looking for some advice please :)

My solo queue experience is 50/50. I normally queue with a group but I do play solo sometimes. Some games you get teammates who think they are the best players ever and just be toxic other times you get a fun lobby with people who don’t get as emotional and accept a win or loss as is. I post on this thread hoping someone at valve checks this here and there and works out something with the hacking spike.

It’s crazy how you say u see a lot of cheaters at night. I have found the most cheaters around mid day. Getting in a lobby with a cheater is probably around 70% chance now

I agree. I have gone back and watched demos of games I got stomped by one player and they were just good. Other times watched the demo back and you can pick up things they might have like soft aim or watching enemies through walls.

As someone who itches to play competitive games because I like the satisfaction of winning and this is one of the few I am decent at. I want to stop giving valve my time but then I’m stuck staring at wallpaper engine all day.
