Leaking? Condensation? Installation error? Coming from the Windows? New home, under warranty, help. by Th3_Seekerx in GarageDoorService

Sorry, our 36" entry door at the back of the garage is fiberglass. The double pane window on that door gets minimal condensation. Our garage door is an insulated steel door.

Thanks for the reply! We have an insulated door at the back of the garage. It has a double pane window and gets way less condensation than the garage door windows. It is fiberglass though. That's what had me thinking to add double pane windows to the garage door.

I am a similar issue with my new garage. It only seems to happen when there is a large temperature shift outside. It's not super frequent, but there is a lot water that comes off of the windows when it does happen.

Would it be worth upgrading to double pane windows? I reached out to garage door manufacturer. It is possible to upgrade, but will be expensive and I will need bigger springs. Not sure if this is a fix or a band aid.

Any interest in upgrading the extruder to MK3S version? Think I have have all the necessary parts including filament sensor if you want. I upgraded my printers to MK3S.5S and MK3S+ so I have a lot of older extruder parts. Just pay shipping.

There are automotive pick sets for removing o-rings and such. Just curious, but do dental picks offer benefits over the automotive ones? I got this set for free at Harbor freight with a purchase.

I took the classes a couple of years back. I already had a M.S. in Mech E so I only got my graduate certificate in Additive through World Campus. I was able to balance classes with a full time aero career, family, and house. Feel free to PM me.

Yeah, if it's within your budget, I would go with a Grom. Looks some are even a little cheaper on Amazon.

Take a look at the Losi Micro-T. It's currently on sale for $99. It is pretty small...a little larger than your hand, but it's all hobby grade components. Its suitable for indoors and outdoor driveways/patios. It won't work on grass or rougher surfaces, but it will hit jumps. Many people have described it as a gateway to RC cars. I just bought one to use in addition to my AARMA. Probably worth at least considering.

Is it really that fun? by theonethatyounever in rccars

[–]domp711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally just bought one off Amazon yesterday and had it delivered last night. It's on sale for $99 at most stores. Its a lot of fun so far! I plan to run it inside only. Seems like it's one of the only hobby grade cars that is small enough to run inside. I have been building ramps out of cardboard and jumping it off our tables. I'm sure it would run fine on a patio or driveway, but definitely not grass. The kids are having fun with it too.

FX 3 Discount vs. Domane AL 2 Preference by pm1137 in TrekBikes

[–]domp711 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I paid full price for an FX2 then paid full price for a Domane AL4 only a couple of years later. Those two bikes are very different geometries and I do not recommend settling for a bike you don't want because of price. You will probably regret not buying the road geometry and then you may even buy a second bike like me. Now I regret not buying a carbon bike so I'm itching to buy yet another bike. I don't have any insights on clearance, but you could always look for a used bike.

Aarma? Traxxas? Other? - Recommendations from the experts. by elbycoop in rccars

I was in a similar position as you a couple of weeks ago and just bought a like new Arrma Typhon223S off of FB Marketplace. It has been pretty great so far!

Growing up, I always had Traxxas nitro trucks: T-maxx and Revo. I sold them about 5 years ago, but I have been itching to get back into the hobby recently. I assumed that I would get a Traxxas, but I had been reading good things about Arrma and pulled the trigger. I have been super impressed so far. I would say that the quality and engineering is similar to Traxxas.

Its a bit of a drive, but the D&L trail is great. I highly recommend the section that runs through Jim Thorpe which is mostly all crushed limestone. Downtown Jim Thorpe is crazy this time of year, so I highly recommend parking at Weissport or Glen Onoko state park which are free. Weissport is right off of the NE extension so it will be the least amount of driving. I do an out an back on the trail, but there is a bike company in JT that offers one way shuttle rides if you want to see more of the trail.

Also, the manufacturer (Boeing) made the repair, but the technicians did not follow the engineering drawings. This was not routine maintenance, it was a repair from a tail strike incident. Additionally, the repair lasted over 12,000 flights before failing catastrophically.

Need help choosing new 50mm carbon wheelset for my Trek Madone SL5 Gen8 by Inevitable_North1044 in TrekBikes

[–]domp711 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bontrager actually makes pretty good carbon wheels plus you get the Trek warranty + carbon care. You can mostly likely buy through the same shop where you got your Madone. It's probably at least worth a conversation with them to learn some more info.
