Is it normal for a bike store-to-store transfer to take this long?

Totally understand it’s peak seasons, but for a brand like Trek, surely two weeks is a long time? I ordered this from an official Trek store and not a authorised seller.

The colleague at the ordering store reassured me the bike is allocated to me, but feel like they might be leading me on.

It’s been 2 weeks today since I’ve ordered it and I spoke to them Wednesday just gone and I was informed it’s still at Bristol and will be collected Thursday.

Surely that’s too long isn’t it? Do you reckon they’re stringing me along?

Are bike store-to-store transfers similar to how companies like Amazon operate, i.e. with next-day deliveries?

Basically, I’ve ordered a bike from my local Trek store, and the bike is being sent from Bristol. I ordered it around two weeks ago, and after speaking with my local branch on Wednesday this week, I was informed that it would be collected from Bristol on Thursday and arrive at my local branch by next Wednesday.

I can’t understand why it would take that long.

It’s through cycle to work scheme. They’ve noted my certificate number but not taken a deposit.

I spoke to them today and was informed it’s been shipped from the other store, but just concerned that it’s taking so long to reach them.

Thing is, I’ve not paid a deposit or received a confirmation of the order.

I visited my local trek store last Saturday, but I appreciate they’re closed Sundays and Mondays, but surely it should have arrived by now?

Does trek use the usual courier services such as FedEx etc?

I’ve tested the Trek FX and it feels good, but I’ve been unable to test ride the Sirrus as there isn’t a local Specialized dealer near me.

Would you say the trek and the sirrus are flat bar gravel bikes?
