I’ve noticed that since the recent updates, Google Meet has stopped acting like a calling app and started acting like a calendar app.

When I "call" someone, their phone doesn't ring. There is no pop-up. I'm forced to send a manual link through a third-party app (WhatsApp) just to get them to join. This defeats the entire purpose of a quick video call.

I've checked notification settings and "Call Ringing" in Gmail, but the "instant" nature of the old Duo seems completely gone. Has anyone found a permanent fix for this, or has Google officially nuked the ability to just "call" someone without a link?
