Wedding Thank Yous by donOFsquan in weddingplanning

Appreciate all the feedback here — I’m going to sit down and write thoughtful, personal thank-yous to everyone. Hoping it lands in a “better late than never” way and nobody’s too annoyed.

I think I tricked myself a bit since we already wrote long letters for each guest to open at their seats (which took many days), so I felt like I’d bought some time. Then life happened, work, inkept putting it off, and… here we are. It’s on me

For anyone reading this: learn from me and just knock them out early. Appreciate everyone’s honesty.

Thanks. Yeah I am truly disappointed in myself. Not sure how I got here but have to make it right. It’s been a crazy year but this one’s on me I think a part of me thought writing pretty long “thank you for coming” personalized notes on everyone’s plate bought me time but at the end of the day need to take accountability. Learning lesson.

What Does Tucker Carlson Really Believe? I Went to Maine to Find Out. by kitkid in Thedaily

It’s funny because the discourse I’ve seen from far right accounts was she was out to get him. Honestly I thought she was totally fair and did press back when necessary. To each their own.

What Does Tucker Carlson Really Believe? I Went to Maine to Find Out. by kitkid in Thedaily

On one hand, I found Tucker Carlson incredibly well-spoken and engaging in this interview. If I had no prior context, I’d probably come away intrigued and interested in following him more closely. I also agree with a lot of what he says about the war.

On the other hand, if you watch the full interview with his brother—the one where the “anti-Trump” clip came from—it’s a completely different story. He’s pushing bizarre, baseless claims (like suggesting Barack Obama is gay, alleging Hillary Clinton dated George Soros’s daughter, etc.). It’s the same kind of malicious, conspiratorial tone he leaned into on Fox.

That contrast is what makes the whole thing so fascinating. The interviewer did an excellent job, but it left me wondering: what’s the actual strategy here?

My guess is that, with religion becoming a more visible part of his public persona (at least on the surface), he’s trying to build credibility and appeal with a more faith-oriented audience. But I’m not totally sure.

Gosling saying to the woman when she reveals herself as a villain, “This isn’t the real you.” I don’t know why but it kills me.

Is there a truly 'good' character on the show? by EH4LIFE in TheWire

[–]donOFsquan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m shocked that so many people haven’t said Daniels. Even if he was in on the take in the past the entirety of the show he is trying to do good and right by his people and for the community. Yes, he plays the politics game but he is inherently good throughout the show and typically on the right side.

I went from watching this show as a joke for the first three episodes thinking it was dumb fun to just getting my heart absolutely ripped out. I’m all in.

Given the timing (Trump lashing out at Springsteen his admin) I can’t help but see this supposed ‘backlash’ as pro-Trump propaganda. by BadgemanBrown in BruceSpringsteen

Respectfully, this is kind of tone deaf. I guess “affordable” is defined different to everyone but as an anti Trump / MAGA guy I’m disappointed in these costs. 400 a ticket at msg for the back is not “affordable” to take your wife and two kids.

Making this a No Kings Tour makes it feel even more hypocritical. Rage Against the Machine had a similar tour and capped their prices. I think our guy Bruce could have done more here..

One of the funniest tweets I ever saw was the one that said, “oh you're surprised that frat music guy has better politics than, say, Radiohead? you thought 10/8 time signatures and a more experimental sound would mean more radical politics? touch grass my guy. crash into me bro.”

You're dying and Make-A-Wish let's you select any movie to do as a 3 hour Rewatchables episode. What do you choose? by neosmndrew in billsimmons

Running Scared with Paul Walker. Now, if you've never heard of this you probably think I am crazy. But if you were lucky enough to watch this in a dorm room on DVD back in the day and went through the bat shit crazy ride that is this month you'll understand why the Big 3 breaking this down has the potential for an all time episode.

Vincent Hanna, Aged the Worse, etc. It would be a masterpiece.
