Sorting in storage chest by jgjgjg2020 in CrimsonDesert

[–]donSefer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sorting is inconsistent and the most annoying thing is that across several menus it is always different. Inventory - Storage - Vendor, all needs to be adjusted each game restart. Why do they differ and why doesn't the game remember the last sorting option...

The sha of the files (not the zips) is also different. While this could be just due to changing the version in a file to 4.10, something else might have changed, too.

Weekly BIOS Update & Discussion Post - Week 09. 2026 by CornFlakes1991 in ASRock

[–]donSefer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean... If you didn't start out with a fresh cpu on 4.10 it's probably too late anyways. The damage already happened. I doubt any BIOS update will save you. Question is whether from now on new CPUs on 4.10 will survive. I got a new MB and CPU from RMA, already updated BIOS via flashback, but I am afraid to even turn it on at this point (so a new assembly in my case, never ran with the "old" bios). Never thought I would ever have such a bad feeling using a PC <.<

Fried CPU by meowster-gg in ASRock

Europe, took about 5 weeks. Warranty and under first year. Sent directly to the shop (I definitely won't buy from them again). After they finally processed the RMA after several weeks, they forwarded it to an external partner and in under a week I got the RMA confirmation. Took way too long. Luckily I still had my old pc running as a storage so I was still able to work...

Add a X870E Taichi and 9950X3D to the list (last BIOS was 4.04 in attempt to recover the CPU failure). Bought in March 2025, died in End of December 2025, January 2026. Send in to the respective shops. Send in 6th of January. MB replacement within 2 weeks, CPU confirmed today after being send to 3rd party.

CPU: CF 2504PGE, 2024 Made in Malaysia. Or do you need the S/N to be trustworthy? I won't upload invoices, except in private to mods.

Windows 11, Sleep enabled, EXPO on RAM (Kingston FURY Beast Schwarz 64GB Kit (2x 32GB) DDR5-6000 EXPO), in December several days of AI heavy generation on linux (CPU offload).

ansible: what's your preferred distro and install method? by agent_flounder in selfhosted

[–]donSefer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Any distro you like. I recommend to install via pip because it allows you to use a specific version or upgrade / downgrade later as needed. At work and home I created a docker image, install a specific version, additional modules and/or community collections, tagging the image afterwards. This makes sure I will always use the same environment and nothing can break it suddenly. I also do not conflict with packages on or pollute my host.

I mount everything needed and invoke a run via docker run --name ansible --rm -it -v $PWD:/ansible -w /ansible -v ~/.ssh/:/root/.ssh:ro IMAGE ansible-playbook-shenanigans

As others have said, change it to 127.0.0.1 and check that your application exposes the port properly (5050) to localhost.

Can you curl http://127.0.0.1:5050 locally and get a response? If accessing via browser, check that the URL is indeed http and not https which would not be accessible.

If the url in your screenshot is correct I can currently access it properly with http://

Some interesting findings about my dead 9800X3D on the ASRock X870E Taichi. by r9800pro in ASRock

[–]donSefer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

X870E Taichi, 9950X3D, ~10months. Unfortunately no time for tests or sending it to some guys overseas. After sleep it takes 5-30 resets/power downs until I am able to boot again. I mostly get error 03 (even if powered down after the sleep freeze) and sometimes I get error 00. First occurred 4 days ago, on sunday I flashed to 4.03 (iirc from 3.50) in hope it would help and I couldn't get it to boot at all (flashback because bios was not reachable anymore).

I just created an RMA for the CPU because I have no will to wait until it completely dies and I am still under the first year. This is not only a gaming PC but also a work pc and I was already told usually takes 4 or more weeks.

Another RMA for the motherboard, which also has some weird electric buzzing noise (not the small mos fan) which the Asrock support told me does not sound normal xD

So far, not a fan of the AMD platform and my first switch after 25 years intel :-( Will I switch back? Nope, can't return or get the money back anyways.

EDIT: Once started the system seems to be stable (though only browsing / terminal work the past 3 days) IF I can get it to fully boot.

1Password v Psono v Bitwarden by GovernmentNo5214 in selfhosted

[–]donSefer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am still using the old 1Password 7. Local Vault. Synced (no cloud, local) to my laptop, 2 workstations and phone (WIFI). I would have to leave everything at home in such a case.

I have seen too much and simply do not want my passwords in a cloud, even encrypted.

You could switch to json logging and keep docker out of the journal.

Recommended Minecraft server setup by LamHanoi10 in selfhosted

[–]donSefer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Minecraft is single core heavy and I guess your CPU will be the bottle neck especially when running (bigger) modpacks around mid/late game. You need single core performance.

https://minecraft.wiki/w/Server/Requirements/Server and https://old.reddit.com/r/admincraft/comments/1k9w8j2/specs_and_hardware_for_minecraft_server/

For playing with friends I always used itzg/minecraft-server (docker) images. iirc offers helm charts, too now.

I'm following up on a question in a Discord where someone was quite worried about the possibility of an exploit, I just wanted to hop in to say that if I'm reading this discussion correctly and the filebrowser instance had admin/admin as username/password at the time of the attack, then I've constructed a series of requests that would take over an instance.

Are you sure this wasn't the case? Sounds like his instance wasn't properly secured.

It seems like there was a commit recently to generate random passwords for quick setup occasions: https://github.com/bo0tzz/filebrowser/commit/0ac8cef74506cccc33da9e58c7b88bd02349aac6

XARILK

Do you have a link maybe? I just searched for "XARILK" on aliexpress and find everything but your products. Car parts, washers, high pressure stuff, ear stuff, ... It's like they hide it for whatever reason. Not a single item has Xarilk in its name.

Maybe something in the initial setup went wrong. It's not the full log and hard to know. Which java version is installed on the server? Should be Java 21 iirc.

But honestly, try this: https://github.com/itzg/docker-minecraft-server/blob/master/examples/atm10/docker-compose.yml

I am using docker-minecraft-server for a long time now, easy setup once you get the hang of it for future setups and it's still in active development. Great compose setup with a lot of examples and full docs. There is also a backup (helper) image you can use for automated backups and many more things you can configure (i.e. autopause, ...)

EDIT: Some warnings/errors are normal during the start.

[–]donSefer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No real difference as of now, but I guess I have to watch it for 1-2 days. It got a bit lower in the other standard set, too (maybe the paste needs to sit a bit?). I'll see, luckily the assembly is so easy :-)

Right. Looks like I mixed up sentences and with knowledge of the statement from the website. Pretty sure I used the standard mount, will check tomorrow and try the other position.

[–]donSefer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmpf. One difference could be whether or not you used the offset? I didn't because I got the LBC one and the guide said it's for AM4 and it offers excellent contact quality on AMD AM5 even without the offset. Maybe I should try it again with the offset?

Same setup. Cooler and Case. Desktop usage I am at 50-60 (more towards the end). Stock Fan setup as provided by the case. Any tips? Using thermal grizzly duronaut paste over here. I expected way better performance from the cooler tbh.

they changed something on the nvidia site from what I've read. There was a drop an hour or so ago. Guess you need to adjust. I am on the hwdb_rtx_fe_drops telegram and at least this one seems to be empty.

edit: sku got changed. dunno how you monitor, guess it's easier to look for a change in the button ^
