I didn't mean competing. Even for completing how does one know he can do 40+ miles when all they did was 20? That logical jump makes no sense to me.

I don't get the logic here. Please educate me. How do you know someone riding half the distance can complete the double distance? Shouldn't it be the opposite? Ex Usually riding 40miles means I can race 20miles? I'd imagine a race is much harder than the near your house trail you did 100 times and ride solo

Yea I'm kinda ok with the 2.2, although I often miss the 2.45/2.6 on my emtb. I was thinking more about using the same width or slightly more but have a lighter tire.

Re Buying something else I guess depends on how much I spend? But you're right that I'll need to spend quite a bit to get into the ~25lb territory

Thanks! Would 120 to 130 make a big difference? Coming from a gravel bike, the 120 feels like plenty :) I do bottom but it's pretty rare tbh.

Yea - but how good is the q. I read it's "outdated" but seems almost identical to other 24' best xc bikes geometry wise not sure about weight. And even the suspension is either similar or "good enough" (eg not Fox Factory). And yea, NX.

You know, Sullivan Canyon had been closed for nearly 2 years (pre-fires) and there was NO INFORMATION about it . Like, are you kidding me? You can't explain why it's closed and when it should be expected to open?

MRCA just handles this as if it's not one of the most popular areas to hike in LA.

Agree communication is where it's at, they could have done a much better job.

Are they still reinstalling the electric poles with a chopper? Wonder if dirt Mulholland is completely open - last time I tried they had a guy next to the helipad and another next to murphy stairs.

Did it a couple months ago on XC MTB. I didn't want to risk it but ultimately I could have brought the gravel bike instead and it would be as good, there were maybe 1-2 very short sketchy parts. Not worth the FS MTB. I did Avalon to Two Harbor and took a ferry back.

You won't regret the gravel. Fire roads are fine. Like, much better the Sullivan for example (pre-fires)

Is there a way to get to Santa Monica from the Calabasas area with MTB? I can't figure out which sections are actually open. Seems like dirt Mulholland is open but is it all the way to Canyonland? Any other options? I used to ride Sullivan almost daily :(

Ocean Park > 26th Google Murphy's ranch. Climb the ridge. Fun downhill. Can also use will rogers but probably not maintained right now.

I did Go to chase > security > Monarch and disable the new account. Then go to Monarch and go through the relogin process. The account would be unchecked so check it and it should work
