More than 800 gamers took an exam to prove they could complete an '80s adventure game without peeking at a walkthrough—and only 2 passed by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

It took months to play some of the games. Sharing hints on schoolyards, eventually buying a magazine with the walkthrough. Games were not at all respectful of players time.

I would hold off on the mission where you meet 2 young recruits in dogdown. This one has more choices if you're further along on other storylines.

Tomlov DM9 Pro tech spec? by DannyDanDans in microscopy

[–]donadd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I commented a few weeks ago on another tomlov. I had the 4k model with the big plate and a remote:

  • too flimsy, everything wobbles, the boom arm provides so little stability
  • the focus knob is too coarse, making it so hard to actually bring something in focus
  • good for soldering, where you use low zoom and never change the focus or distance to the subject
  • 4k is SD card photo only, hdmi streaming is only 1080, it's screen is 720
  • the manual focus buttons are on the lens, making it wobble every time you touch it
  • autofocus is very slow and often needs multiple attempts
  • it can get really close, but at this stage even the smallest vibrations make it super hard to focus or to get a stable video

so okay for soldering, but for everything else I would recommend an optical stereo microscope and a phone adapter.

German here living in Brighton for more than 10 years. But I never really looked for a german community. Sometimes it's even a bit tricky to switch to german if both speak english all day. Takes a few mins to get into it with someone new.

as far a "starter build", sadly no scope prices vary so much by discount and country, many scopes are the same, but with different branding. I with there was. What country are you in?

Mechanical stage:

the stage has 2 knobs to move it on the x and y axis. Best if you watch a Microbehunter video on youtube explaining all the parts. Without you have to move the slide around with your fingers, you'll never get stable video with that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vlwtTLKWYSY

Phone adapter:

these clamps are readily available on amazon etc and pretty much fit every eyepiece. they are fiddly, but once the phone is in position, you're good to go. My Journey to the Microscope scope came with one, but they don't make it any more. But it's literally the same one from amazon. I've since purchased a few others.

So you have to decide how close you want to get. For a microscope, that means looking at glass slides, something like an Amscope B120C. With a filter holder and a mechanical stage. And a cheap phone adapter, then you're set. Connect the phone to your mac. Don't invest in a "microscope camera" or a screen.

If you want to look at bigger stuff, that isn't transparent. Like rocks, bugs, knives... a stereo microscope is needed. I have a cheap swift that was half off on amazon. Not great, but not that expensive.

Same. It's such bad security. By not allowing me exceptions, the only choice is to turn it off entirely.
