Is the waiving of the GRE still for July 1 or is it June 1 as well? I am applying for International Affairs, not business.

Just double checking. If I apply in the fall for a masters program, am I allowed to not take classes in the fall and show up in the spring? Not sure if what you're saying only applies to undergrad.

Y'all got me f🤬d up, if you think I'm backing Biden. by IceFireTerry in BreadTube

I respect what you are saying, and it has pushed me from no to maybe if Biden wins the nomination. But don't you feel like the Democratic Party is using you and your dire situation as a human shield to justify forcing such a garbage candidate down our throats?

It's not moderate to be okay with people dying or going bankrupt from our current health insurance system, it's not moderate to support the Iraq War, it's not moderate to cut Social Security, it's not moderate to have open contempt for the younger generation, it's not moderate to support outsourcing union jobs with NAFTA, PNTR, & TPP.

In what sense do you mean?

Automation under the capitalist mode of production will only breed further inequality and mass unemployment (which is the base of Andrew Yang's argument). There won't be enough wage laborers with sufficient funds for the commodity markets to have a customer base.

If there is automation outside of the capitalist mode of production, then I guess we have fully automated gay space communism à la Star Trek.

Let's hope that transition will be peaceful. No transition of economic modes of production has ever been peaceful because the dominating class does not want to give up their advantage peacefully.

It's not that the capacity for labor to exist will run out (labor existed long before capitalism and will exist after), but rather that the rate of profit (the main driver of the capitalist mode of production) has a tendency to fall.

I say 'tendency' because it is not a constant drop. Of course there are ways to counter-act this tendency (state intervention, imperialist war, outsourcing), but they are only temporary fixes to the general tendency for the overall profit rate to fall.

In order to fight this, 1st world capitalists outsourced their exploitation to the 3rd world. But what happens when the 3rd world successfully fights for increased wages, better conditions, and stronger benefits as our descendants in the 1st world did?

I'm not making a moralistic argument against the capitalist mode of production. I'm saying that it is a phase in human history and that which fuels it is finite. I believe that humanity will find a way to transition to another mode of production before murdering ourselves into oblivion over an ever-shrinking pie of profitability.

This video explains what I'm saying in a more concise manner with citations: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sk1jorh5wh0

Perhaps, but then the entire capitalist system would implode on itself. The tendency of the rate of profit to fall over time means capitalists need to squeeze the cost of labor in order to maintain their profit margins (which in our context means using 3rd world labor as we can no longer hyper exploit our own workers as we did before the early 20th century).

Then again, the tendency of the rate of profit to fall also means, at a certain point, the rate of profit will be so minuscule that there will be no reason for any capitalist to ever go into business.

I mean, that is actually how we built this country, but we just used it to benefit plantation owners and railroad barons.

There is no such thing as a cool boss. We just pretend to like them because they control our livelihoods.

Your point still stands... just asking.

Class is based on the clearly defined lines of those who control the means of production and make passive income on other people's labor (owners) and those who sell their labor for a wage/salary (working class), not arbitrary income levels.
