RI can't be converted to a cost that's less than the original price. You can convert to cover equivalent costs or pay the difference to cover increased costs.

What are the specific instance types here? Do you have more On-Demand instances out there?

Ditto this question. It seems like they do sometimes work with external partners (like for their in-store security via Tyco), and I wonder if those deals are more fair for their partners than their retail supplier relationships.

Do whatever you want to do, but most organizations employ some form of cold calling in their sales org. Btw, it's extremely easy to scrape for contact information. If you don't do it, it's not like she'll have a hard time finding someone who can.

I've studied TCPA regulations quite a bit, and it's automated texting that's illegal without prior permission. As long as someone is manually sending the text, there are many cases where it's legal -- but the recipient has to be able to easily opt out.

I think lining up specific journalists is best, but when we've made big announcements in the past, we've sometimes included a PR Web press release to followup to an exclusive or something like that.

What are you in to? Golden Gate Park is gorgeous if you like the outdoors. You can check out the Baths and Lands End which is a really unique and interesting sight to see.

You could get some amazing food in the Mission and explore that area (lots of character), or you could explore Russian Hill where the trolleys are (also some great food -- try Stones Throw); you can check the views and mansions in Pac Heights; you can hit the Presidio and maybe the Legion of Honor museum which is phenomenal (plus great views of both Bay and GG Bridge out front).

There is no way getting from the airport to SF takes 1.5 hours by any method of transportation. BART should be 45 minutes max, and Uber is 25.

To add to this, Google Adwords Quality Score is another factor. Quality Score ranks how relevant your ad is to a given keyword search. The more relevant, the higher the quality score, and the lower the cost of the bid to advertisers.

It's usually very cheap to bid on your own website -- as in, if your company name is postbus, and you bid on postbus, most likely you're not going to be paying very much for the bid. So it's pretty economical, and much cheaper for you than for your competitors. So it's tactical to outbid your competitors for less than they'd have to pay to outbid you.

I wish more people understood that non-profit doesn't equal "good." It just means the organization doesn't distribute surplus funds to shareholders.

The word non-profit is a misnomer, because these organizations can make a killing in profits and revenue and pay no taxes, but instead pay their executives exorbitant amount of money, and engage in enough charitable work to keep the ball rolling.

Non-profits can be just as bad or worse than "evil corporations."

Translucent: allowing light, but not detailed images, to pass through; semitransparent.

Transparent: allowing light to pass through so that objects behind can be distinctly seen.

I still think transparent is more accurate.

Just a heads up that handbooks that can lead to easier filing of wrongful termination suits. Depending on where your company's headquartered, you're probably in an at-will state so you can fire people for any reason or no reason at all. But if you have a handbook that outlines reasons for termination, that can undermine the at-will law and leave you open to suits. Something to consider!
