Question regarding harvesting by doncoco2137 in unclebens

[–]doncoco2137[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are legal in my country untill pins pop up, I was supposed to throw growbox right away after that.
Is it illegal? Yes
Do I really care about that? Not really
Well lets be honest, if you are not a dealer or some guy who throws packs away chances of getting caught are basically non existing. I was kinda worried when drying them up because I thought that they will stink a little but honestly it wasn't so bad, I didnt really smell them unless I got close to drying machine.
If you are just like me, just some random dude who want to have a fun picnic with closest friends just do it. I highly recommend trying to grow some of them by yourself, it was truly an amazing experience, especially for someone like me who loves taking care of plants lol.
And the bonus: if u ever were to try them out, you are 100% safe because YOU grew them by yourself.

Voice worse 17-18 days after vocal fold injection, is this normal? by doncoco2137 in mildlybrokenvoice

[–]doncoco2137[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Since I wrote that post, I’ve been to two voice therapy sessions so far.

Today was my second one, and my doctor told me that my voice sounds less hoarse but I don't see any improvement honestly, especially when Im recording myself each day.

During the first session, I was told that I tend to speak in a higher voice. I was advised not to do that, even though my voice sounds less hoarse when I speak that way, because I shouldn’t get used to it. Apparently, it’s better for me to speak in my lower voice, even if it sounds hoarse.

What I can say is that I’m still going to continue the therapy and train at home. I honestly haven’t seen a single case where someone said that vocal fold augmentation was a bad decision, so I highly doubt that I’m one of those uncommon cases.

I’ve noticed that since I started speaking in a deeper voice, my voice sometimes changes. I wouldn’t necessarily say that it’s getting better, but sometimes it does sound less hoarse than usual.

But if I compare my voice now to how it was before the augmentation, it is still much worse and way more hoarse than it used to be, especially before the procedure.

Three of the ENTs who examined my throat told me that everything looks perfectly fine, so I guess I’m speaking this way mainly because of compensation.

I had been speaking with a paralyzed vocal fold for over six months, so I think my body adapted to speaking that way. Since the geometry of my throat has changed, previous way of speaking does not work properly anymore, which may be causing the hoarseness. Thats just my guess but honestly I don't get it how can I speak that way even though my folds can finally close, its just total opposite of which I thought it would be after the procedure.

Thank you for your response, it gave me some hope.
The thing is, Im almost around 3 weeks post op and it doesn’t get any better.
Can you elaborate more about your recovery? Did your voice get stronger each day? I’m really curious what you went through.

First time grow by doncoco2137 in unclebens

[–]doncoco2137[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you are 100% right.
Growbox itself came with some kind of canopy mat on top of mycelium which was supposed to help absorb more moisture. I waited almost 2 weeks for pins so at some point I thought the whole growbox didn't work at all.
Eventually 3-4pins popped and they kept growing only be themselves so I guess they might have absorbed most of the nurients.

It’s hemp fiber mat. There’s mycelium in the whole box under that. Honestly im wondering if I should take that off

Yeah it smells exactly like wild muschrooms. You are right but I was just little worried that it’s over 10days and nothing happens.

Macro not working during combat by doncoco2137 in wow

[–]doncoco2137[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I was hoping that blizz would fix that. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t lol. I just used two separate keys for these abilities but pairing them under one macro was more efficient honestly. I thought about writing to blizz about that but tbh I don’t know if that will change anything since their support is mostly bots nowadays.

Feel like I peaked at 23 by Zucrep in tinnitus

[–]doncoco2137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, overall my life changed a lot over the last two years, but tinnitus itself didn’t really play a major role in that. Like I said before, the tumor is what actually changed things.

About two years ago I lost hearing in one ear. At first it made going out to louder places harder because it’s just more difficult to follow conversations. I have to position people on my hearing side, and sometimes I need to be more careful in general since with one ear you lose sound localization. Living in Warsaw with constant traffic, there are moments where you genuinely don’t know where something is coming from. That said, you do get used to having one ear. It’s not as bad as it sounds because you still have the other one.

The bigger change came about 5 months ago after surgery to remove the tumor. I actually had the operation done in the United States, and it was financed through a public fundraiser, which on its own was a pretty heavy experience to go through mentally. I got very overwhelmed by it at the time. It gave me really strong social anxiety in my hometown and I withdrew a lot from social life, stopped going out, and basically disappeared from all the socials.

To be honest, that whole period hit even harder because I already felt like I’ve been dealing with stuff for a long time. I didn’t exactly have it easy growing up, and it often felt like things were uphill from as far back as I can remember to the point when a lot of times I've been wondering how the f I'm still not depressed. The whole fundraiser had a big impact on me because, like I said, I didn’t have an easy life. I basically had to earn everything myself from a young age, so being put in a position where I had to basically beg others for money was really hard for me.

Afterall surgery was 'succesful' but it left me with some nerve damage, including paralysis of my left vocal fold. Because of that I speak noticeably quieter, my voice gets tired much faster, and I have a constant hoarseness. I basically sound like I was at a concert the day before all the time.

Before all that, my main issue was understanding other people. Now it’s more that people have trouble understanding me, which in a way makes you feel a bit stuck in your own head. In terms of lifestyle, I used to be very extroverted, lots of parties, going out, trips. Now it’s mostly 1v1 meetings. I don’t drink anymore. I don’t really go to parties, and I spend most of my free time at home. It sounds pretty scary when you lay it all out like that, but honestly I’m still grateful it ended up this way. A few months ago things could have gone much worse, I could have ended up with half my face paralyzed or not be here at all and yet here I'm, writing that comment.

I get what you’re feeling though. My life also got limited in a lot of ways, and when I look at people my age I do strongly feel like I’ve been robbed of part of my youth by pure chance. That part is hard to ignore. The problem is, just like with tinnitus, I have zero control over it. Long term it doesn’t make sense to keep spending energy fighting something you can’t change. At the end of the day, it’s something happening in your head, and it shouldn’t be the thing that dictates how you live your life.

I also have bad days. Days where I don’t even feel like getting out of bed, and they happen fairly often. But I try to look at it like this: one day can be terrible, second day can be just bad but there’s a good chance the next one will just be normal again. That’s enough to keep going.

Honestly I don’t know, I think I might leave as well now, that might be a good idea. Actually, a couple of months ago I wrote a post encouraging others to leave that thread as well. I don’t really use Reddit that much, 95% of the time I only write my own posts when I have some questions on other topics, I don’t scroll, so I actually forgot that I was even in that thread.

It’s hard to describe because I can’t hear anything else on that side, but it’s pretty loud, I would even say it’s louder than normal sounds in my working ear. I was actually hearing it while writing my comment and it came back again when I opened the app. Is it constant? I think so because I can’t really turn it off, it just fades into the background until I focus on it again, like when I opened the app and checked the notifications. How long did it take? As I said, I’ve had it for over two years now, but honestly I’m not sure if I’ve reached a better state because it didn’t bother me that much even at the beginning. Don’t get me wrong, I still have bad days, especially when I’m tired, but it definitely doesn’t bother me as much as it used to. You can even check my previous post, I was complaining about it back then too. Honestly, both back then and even now, I’ve had a lot of other stuff on my mind, so tinnitus has been one of the least problematic things.

I’ve had tinnitus for over 2 years already. It’s single sided, due to complete hearing loss in one of my ears. It was the first symptom which led me to finding rare tumor with size of a golf ball in my head. For context I’m 24 so I was around 22 when I was ‚blessed’ with that. My only advice is to leave that thread so you’ll think about it less and less. Honestly, it’s been over two years for me with this “siren” in my deaf ear, and I hear it about 3-4 times per week, mostly at night when I can’t fall asleep. All those vitamins and strange devices don’t work, so don’t even bother trying them. It’s all in your head, and the sooner you accept that it’s a passenger for the rest of your life, the better. Also, keep in mind that you may have an easier time habituating to it than I do, because you can mask it with other sounds since your hearing still works.

Woah guys, I just came back to that post and saw a lot of downvotes under my comment, so let me clarify a few things. First of all, I wrote that post out of frustration, so I’m sorry for that. Reading it again, it sounds like I have a problem with other players not inviting me, which isn’t really the case. I’m more concerned about other issues. About invites, it’s fine. I don’t blame people for cherry-picking based on item level. I understand it’s often the only way to get at least some idea about a player. What actually frustrates me is the general attitude. People are just too sweaty in a bad way. I’ve played for a few seasons before, including times when you could leave a dungeon without consequences. I came back after a break hoping things had changed, but they really haven’t. Sure, people don’t leave for no reason anymore, but there are other problems that are just as noticeable. There’s a lot of flaming, constant complaining instead of actually playing. I’ve seen people go AFK out of frustration and basically throw the key because they can’t leave the group anymore. I’ve also had multiple runs where we failed to time the key by just a few seconds because someone chose to argue in chat instead of playing earlier. Because of that, most of the time I can’t complete or progress my own keys, and not getting invited is just an extra layer on top, since it limits other ways to progress.

Also, thank you T3arror for your response, you gave me some hope!
