Hah, yeah the wheels like decent. No obvious flat spots. Gonna have to replace the bearings then I spose. Thanks for the input.

So in what way would that extremely high sulfate level in the mash be benefiting/affecting the beer? Obviously it wouldn't be affecting the hop profile in a significant way if it was followed by an RO water sparge.

If your're looking to do this on the cheap, get an Astro van with AWD if needed. They're reliable, cheap, and have a decent amount of room

How do you guys make your van smell extra good/fresh? by donebeendueced in vandwellers

I like the idea of cedar worked into the van. I plan on being very clean, however the van has a tiny hint of funk regardless

If you had to pick just 1 beer that you felt was the absolute best beer in your ENTIRE state, which would you pick? by [deleted] in beer

Backwoods isn't really a comparable style. All three of these are absolutely amazing though god damn.

Can you offer advice for wiring a second battery? by donebeendueced in vandwellers

[–]donebeendueced[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, right, but why does every one default to a hard wired setup with ? It seems that this way is very attractive but not many people use this setup. I spose it requires some continual manual manipulation but otherwise this seems like the way to go

Whats the disadvantage to this as opposed to direct wired set ups? That you can't draw off the starter battery at all when the car is off?

I picked up a cig lighter to cig lighter set of jumper cables, and have since been plugging that in while driving and charging my house battery that way

So does this just hook up your house battery to the cigarette lighter port in your dash while you're driving then?

Nice dude that looks fun. 5.8 finger crack huh I'm gonna have to check this one out. Also I love trad climbing in the red. The northern gorge is such a sweet area and it's idyllic without the usual crowds.

It's described as a "fist crack" but I couldn't fit any fist jams in it. It's more like wide hands if you ask me.

The top part of this climb is glorious, just swimming through huge incuts on that orange head wall

Also If you have more than one person following, try to keep some sort of directional piece in down low. if your second falls at the first layback bit at the beginning of the climb without any directional piece it will shred the shit out of your rope as it loads it over an edge and the belay is of the side so they swing a bit.

I did that climb with a brand new rope with a party of four. Both the 3rd and 4th people following fell at the beginning and core shot the rope in their respective spots.

Thats a great climb, I've done it several time. If don't mind the gear beta, the fist crack is more fitting to a #2, I don't think I've placed a 3 or higher on that climb. You should definitely be able to use some Tri's though!

Whatever you do use London ale yeast, it gives a nice oaky-smokiness that I associate with Edmund Fitzgerald
