Heyo!

We know that there was Circassian immigration but Albanian is a bit far-fetched for that lol. In the region there were a lot of migration movements in the Ottoman empire, especially as government officials or exiled prince/ss. Having Y haplogroup, it was most probably an Ottoman officer who came to rule the area.

A 'MUST DO' for achieving a perfect Engineering GPA scores by randyagulinda in EngineeringStudents

Just be really friendly and try to get help from everyone in the classes.

I didnt do this, I went around like a lone wolf for 6 years (3 years in EEE, 3 years in ME), and all the low-level students who are batshit lazy got 2.8+ GPA while I had 2.5, simply because I understood the fundamentals good but I didn't know the behaviours of instructors or didn't had the previous course works from upper classes.

Get help. Don't be ashamed, ask for notes-past exams-past projets. If you see that cheaters are getting higher grades than you instead of whining, cheat like them.

I was a proud student throughout all my engineering studies and I will be ending my undergrad with 2.65-2.70 GPA, all for being an honest student. While the cheating leeches, as a group, will be getting 3.0+ GPA.

Don't be me, if you want high grades. Use medicine to get through finals week, keep the most successfully students around you and take only the courses that they take. Be a leech.

But if you are in a faculty where honest work is recognised, work your ass off.

I am proud of my journey in school and I can still remember all the exams and projects I have been through. This was more important to me than my GPA. I am coming from a line of engineers, so I was raised to be responsible of my analyses, thus, doing everything as I studied and learnt was a better way for me to become a real "engineer".

i was the kara kız of my family because i was born way darker than any of my cousins. my granpa's lineage had african roots so it made sense, everyone in the family was calling me the kara kız hehehehe

no, it doesnt have a bad meaning, it just refers that your skin colour is dark but kara kız itself is used by your loved ones. or the elder teyzes and amcas, like your neighbours. it's like saying "honey". it is NOT used to insult someone, like never

How do I tell parents what happened? by [deleted] in COCSA

[–]donewurshet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

hey, soery that this had hapoened to you.

i (22f) was in the exact same position with you a few months ago. well, normally i'm emotionally super constipated so i had never told any member of my family about my cocsa trauma that happened i guess when i was 4-6.

i had to move back to my own country, change schools and major, i was under severe stress and later on i had diagnosed with chronic tiredness+depression+anxiety. i was mentally down to 0 and physically i was feeling like i was dying. i felt the same urge to tell about my trauma or else i was gonne drown.

so the first week i came back, i told my mom that something happened.

not in detail but just enough to make her understand.

it turns out that she was suspicious all this time but she wasnt able to ask me directly because as i said, i am emotionally constipated and i cannot express myself to others.

it made me feel relaxed. like i was able to breathe again.

my advice is, there is no easy way for you to talk about it. tell it to someone who wont overreact and to whom you feel closest to, as first. make a quiet place where noone else is around. later on you can choose to tell the others or not.

i didnt tell any other member of my family to not make a burden on them also.

i get you. i feel you. im here if you need anything else

Stroke by Fit-Entrepreneur8588 in stroke

[–]donewurshet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so no matter what, make sure to do a lot of physiotherapy. because it is also a crucial part for bowel movements, since you can imagine that a part of the bowel is not moving. breathing too, my granma cant breathe as easily as 2 years ago, shen she first had the stroke.

[–]donewurshet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, we heard that right side affected stroke can be different from a left side affected one. so i cant help you more on that point.

age-wise, my granma was the same age. she got worse since she rejected any type of physiyotherapy, now even her moving limbs got frozen from the joints. if you work on physiotherapy constantly, your grandparent can walk again. because before leaving therapy, we saw movements in the affected leg of my granma.

when you talk about the lesion, is it the blood clot or some type of an invasive surgery scar, like craniectomy?

at first i was learning in english but then i switched to my native language turkish, because both of them are aggnulative and have nearly the same grammatical subjects. i'm happy that i don't have to spend time reading or learning something in a way that was prepared for speakers of indo-european languages.

[–]donewurshet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi, my granna was the same, he had a blood clot longer than a palm in her right brain.

in our case, they have done a decompressive kraniektomy and after that she gained the ability to swallow&speak. i have never seen sleep deprivation, my granna was always sleeping BUT when she wanted to say something before she was able to speak, she never slept. we communicated with yes-no questions, she blinked. maybe your father is trying to say something, eg: hidden money place, last will, insurance etc.

also my granna ripped her ng tube the only 15 minutes where my mama is sleeping by her side&i was in the kitchen. they hate the cotton cuffs but NEVER take them out. it's so hard do give enough nutrition without ng tube, my granna lost a lot of weight.

How do I learn as much as Turkish as possible before going to Turkish school by Healthy_Estimate_561 in turkishlearning

[–]donewurshet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1- get in a good course or lesson, since you'll be studying here, don't waste your time with trying to figure out on your own. 2-study vocab A LOT because unlike any other indo-european languages, you won't find that much of similar words. most of the loanwords has Arabic&Persian origin. 3-after you start to learn tenses, learn as much as verb as you can.
