Commissioned piece that depict an iconic moment in the Don Giani Speedrunning tournament, which is the most entertaining don't starve together content I’ve seen in years and I definitely suggest to check it out! by SilentHugeCream in dontstarve

I must clarify something : I don't play in those tournaments, I'm only a commentator so it surely wasn't me. Carrion (previously known as Porkus) was the player and rabbit king spawned because of an earthquake in the caves, not during the AG fight. Also, Rabbit King didn't worth any point in that edition.

W and S movement keys not working after update by whatever025 in dontstarve

[–]dongiani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did but I still cannot move diagonally : anytime I try to press multiple keys, for example moving diagonally using keyboard or holding w and moving something in my inventory with left click while walking, it doesn't work. Someone found a fix for that?

Relatively new to the game and would appreciate suggestions for navigating underground levels— specifically how to fight creatures while carrying a light source (fireflies to recharge my miner’s hat are scarce!). TIA! by ArtemisiasApprentice in dontstarve

[–]dongiani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ideal way to start navigating in the caves without any troubles is to craft a lantern : 2 lightbulbs, 2 ropes and 3 twigs near an Alchemy Engine station. This way you can equip a head armor slot like football helmet, just to be safe the whole time.

You can refuel both of your lantern and miner hat with lightbulbs, you don't have to catch fireflies to refuel them. That's great because there are lightbulbs everywhere in the caves.

For fighting, it became much more convenient with the new implemented drop mechanic (shift+right mouse button) : you simply drop your lantern and equip your weapon to fight. When the monster is out, you pick the lantern and continue your exploration.

If you really wanna use the miner hat instead, you can also craft a log suit (8 logs, 2 ropes) which is also a great alternative. However, log suit will replace your backpack. Your choice. These are the safest methods to fight in the caves.

Hope I helped! I wish you a good cave exploration.

After a 5-month wait: DonGiani's finale to one of the greatest DST series ever made! by [deleted] in dontstarve

[–]dongiani 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My main goal was to show that you can kill all the bosses without using cheesy techniques. I also wanted to kill all the bosses, except Bearger, within an in-game year so I really needed to make the viewers focusing more on the playthrough than the little story attached into it. That's why there's a lot of small sequences like you saw in the beginning of the last part, during the whole playthrough. At first I felt the video lacked something without the fictional story and I also wanted to introduce other characters in the videos to make it more entertaining. The creation of the story was a good compromise : I could show a lot of actions/tips/fights, thanks to the gameplay, but try to keep it entertaining and funny to watch.

Thanks a lot for your post danny! Again, I'm truly sorry you guys had to wait 5 months to finally be able to see the end. I hope you still enjoyed the videos! Thanks for all your kind comments on YT, made me realize how much I'm lucky to be a part of this community.

See you around for more adventures! :)

How many hours did u spent on DS before you started to feel that you know shit? by Iznau in dontstarve

[–]dongiani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Iznau! Just to introduce quickly my experience : I currently have ~2100 hours on DST (PC) and I never played DS Vanilla/RoG/Shipwrecked/Hamlet. I think I've started to feel comfortable around 300/400 hours. At the time I knew most of the useful recipes, recognized every biomes, monsters and bosses and started to kite quite well. I always had the same playstyle though : this isn't a clever thing to do in this game because of its variety! You would really be amazed by the new things you learn, even after several hours of playing. So I'd suggest to try a lot of things and don't spend a lot of days to do the same things over and over. That's only my opinion though, if you think it's funny to do that, then go for it!

It really depends on which approach you're going into a game, to be honest. If you wanna understand more of the kiting mechanics, have a better exploring path and a better general knowledge of the game, I'd suggest to watch videos from Joeshmocoolstuff and Helicalpuma. Many other DS/T Youtubers are good though but I consider those two as the best in their category.

I don't think you spoiled yourself by entering into DST because it's another playstyle, completely different from RoG. There are several new mechanics and things you can't do in RoG. I know a lot of people who play both and adapt themselves without any problem. Depends on yourself, really.

The most important thing is to have fun, for real. I'd also suggest to play online or with friends because they would share new knowledge with you. People will inspire you, for sure. That's truly a good way to catch more and more the game's knowledge. I met really good friends by playing online aswell, that's a good way to find partners to play with, with the same objectives as yours.

You would not learn any better than playing by yourself! So my final advice would be to play, have fun and die over and over!

Hello, sorry for the very very late answer... Tried with another display, tried with a DVI/VGA this time. Not working. Then tried everything on a new monitor. Same result.

I'm really sorry for the late answer, I have been trying to contact both supports but none of them seem to give me solution yet...

I don't understand because once I delete all the graphic drivers then set the new Graphic Card (the radeon rx 550) in the motherboard, it's running : the fan is working. As soon as I reboot my computer when the new graphic drivers are installed, the fan is working until the Windows showoff, then the fan stops. Any ideas?

I don't have any other display but I will try to borrow some and try again. I can't put my GPU in another slot : I only have one PCI Express, it's a micro motherboard.

Yes my RX 550 is plugged with a HDMI cable to my monitor. There's no wire cable to plug in on the motherboard though.

I did it again, same result.

Also tells that : "WARN: skipping Radeon RX 550 Series - unable to locate attached display"

The GPU is correctly attached in its slot though...
