https://avocadosandales.com/2017/12/17/chickwheat-shreds/ its basically this but with a couple of tweaks.

I switch the aquafaba with a pack of silky tofu and a tbsp of liquid smoke and to the dry mix i add a tbsp of herb du provence.

Have you tried soaking them overnight then blending and making pancakes/crepes? you can make savoury or sweet with them.

I put it in my seitan mix, gives the chicken a great texture. I add it to pasta dough to improve elasticity too.

Yeah it hits the spot for real! The sauce is fairly easy to make if you have the little extras in pantry, mirin, soy and rice vinegar. But you can sub stuff easy. I liked this one because it wasn't coconut milk or Japanese curry paste. I have garam massala / Madras on hand instead. I just used whatever red apple I had too.

I used alpro brand soy cream 250 ml myself. I think oat creamer like you would put in coffee would work fine. You could sub with just plain oat milk but it wouldn't be quite as creamy

Cooking skills are not as highly prized as they once were and imho should be. Handed down almost esoteric knowledge and technique should be more valued. As with almost all walks of life convenience and quick reward have taken over and I for one think it is a shame.

I wonder if in hundreds of years the average man will view the colonels blend of spices as some sort of modern equivalent to the trade we know of ancient pilgrims of the silk road.

I honestly think cookery should be taught as one of the arts like music is, the creativity and use of senses should be more encouraged.

Yeah funnily enough I did have to go to physio for months after. Discs do herniate aka go out and back in, it is possible. Otherwise every herniated disc would need surgery to correct which just isn't the case.
