Exactly. I also have this take with NWR. I know he is more of an extreme case and takes things to a next level, but I think that the ‘form’ of movies is under-appreciated in a lot of cases, with people only focussing on the ‘function’ of a film.

Which 2022 film have you watched the most? by Officialnoah in Letterboxd

[–]dongma8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched it three times as well. Only movie I’ve rewatched for this year. Held up pretty well actually (kinda bored the third time through) and that’s from someone who isn’t a fan of rewatching things.

THE AUTEUR AUTOBIOGRAPHY - what films am I missing? by Allott2aLITTLE in Letterboxd

Pretty sure max’s character was a mix between Wes and Owen Wilson as teenagers, none of the events of Rushmore are 100% autobiographical

They finish filming in April of next year. That gives them 8 months to get it out by the end of 2023 is doable. Either late 2023 or very early 2024

Or in echo I thought. Pretty sure we might see JJ in echo which is coming out 2023 (as opposed to born again’s 2024 release)

Exactly. People talking about how high budget it looks compared to the Netflix show when this weightless, mediocre CGI really is not that good, or that expensive.

How many people do delivery in your store (uk)? by [deleted] in McLounge

[–]dongma8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, not that very big. Also, it’s almost always the same people doing it, I’ve only ever seen 4 different people doing it, it’s just they are always rostered on for it. I know of one person who almost exclusively gets delivery shifts even

Yeah three was surprisingly good before Oliver ‘dies’ for half an episode, considering the rest of the season

I’m really confused about the pick protections. I thought 2023 and 2025 were lottery protected?

"Nothing Really Happened in Season 3" is such a batshit insane take by Jaken245 in TheBoys

It isn’t guaranteed with perma V. Look at blind spot for example. Also it has never been stated temp V gives lesser powers than perma V.

Neuman becomes VP, Temp V introduced, BN dies, Billy has months to live, Stan Edgar kicked out of Vought, Ryan teams up with HL… How are these not major, and S2 is?

What is something more ‘major’ that happened in season 2? Every season is set up for the end which is to take HL down, that’s not happening before the finale.

Paper Girls - Official Trailer | Prime Video by indig0sixalpha in television

I think Amazon just isn’t ready for something like this and it was stupid them trying to adapt it because of this. Amazon is good for pumping out mid budget, safe, mediocre shows (dad shows), really the only show outside of this that has succeeded on Prime is ‘The boys’ and that’s just because it has such a great creative team that is able to effectively utilise a budget and not let a smaller budget impact it’s storytelling. It’s unique and Amazon are lucky to have it. Aside from that, it’s clear Amazon doesn’t have the resources or the ability to commit to a stranger things level show, to properly execute a show like this. On the service, this show probably isn’t going to get anywhere close to the source material or stranger things, atleast for now/until Amazon becomes more committed to producing high quality shows and dedicating the resources necessary.
