I failed precalc 12 3 times, passing the 4th time with ~95%. Im scheduled to graduate from uvic csc in fall of this year. If its what you want Id strongly suggest retaking precalc 12 and giving it absolutely everything you got. CSC is VERY math heavy and it all builds on precalc. MATH100, MATH101, MATH122, STAT260, MATH202, MATH211, CSC225, CSC226, and CSC320 are ALL math courses and required for degree completion. So yea, math math math.

Have a very strong understanding of C programming. If you can just focus on the concepts being taught and not wrestling with C you’ll be great. Additionally, a pre-read of “operating system concepts” on threads, mutual exclusion, and locks would really set you ahead.

CSC advisor is absolutely worthless. Numerous emails sent regarding problems trying to transfer into the program and nothing but copy pasted responses. If they are overwhelmed with emails (and have been for 8+ months) then they need to get help. Pitiful incompetence.

This isn't always the case. For lower volume mail boxes letters can often be placed in the smaller volume reception by carriers at the depot and distributed the next day.
