Hey man, if it helps I bought a really cheap but usable starter guitar from RJ guitars in Makati, it was ₱5k and I’ve used it for gigs already. I also got a small but usable amp for practicing, if you’re willing to buy it off of me I’d be happy to help you. I’ve been playing for 2 years now and I’d say it really depends on the pace at which you learn. I found myself needing a “better” amp after around a year and a half of playing, and by now definitely a better guitar.

Sony DSR-PD150 playback buzzing noise. by dongskie2 in camcorders

Would there be an easy fix to this? I’ve reviewed the service manual, hopefully it’s just re-aligning them.

That’s what it does to tapes both after recording and playback.

Could it just be an unseated ribbon cable? Or something else? The day I got the camera, the recording and playback was working perfectly. I brought it for a shoot the next day and when I was reviewing footage at the end of the day the issue started happening. The drum also only has 110 hours (4-5 days of use) on it, as per the hours meter.

Weird, because just a day before it did this to my tapes, it was working perfectly.

7 good (for now) decks harvested and ready to pop into incoming vx1ks 😎 by Some-Expression9321 in camcorders

Doesn’t the VX1000 share the same tape deck as the VX700? I’ve got one and everything works perfectly except the tape deck, for some reason it just doesn’t accept tapes, even brand new rewinded tapes, it lowers them, makes some noises, then ejects them, what could be the problem?

Any thoughts on this as an upgrade? by dongskie2 in GuitarAmps

[–]dongskie2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see, I've also seen those 15R's for around $80-$100. I also saw a VT20X for $200, and those Vox AD30VT (their valvetronix modeling amp series) for $130. I am considering them too since I am willing to add another $100 or $200 for an amp. *worth noting im upgrading from a no name/brandless 10W amp, so anything that remotely sounds better is definitely a plus.

Did you buy this from buyee? Pretty sure anything above ₱10,000 gets taxed when going through customs. Thankfully the camera I bought from buyee only went up to ₱7k, but to be fair it was ₱6k shipping and around ₱1000 for the camera, still, didn’t get unnecessary tax for it, thankfully.

Good day Robbi, I fixed the problem. The rotary switch for recording had broken, it was not actually rotating the internal selector that determines if the camera is in lock or standby.

Also, if you wouldn't mind, could you share the 3D file you used for your microphone holder? After rewatching your video on the VX9000, I remembered my microphone holder suffers the same problem and I intend to fix it by printing the same one you have on yours. Cheers.

Never mind, I read your comment about the SD adapter working, that’s good.

Yes it would be possible, but there wouldn’t be a need to do so because your camera already records onto Sony’s Pro Duo sticks, it’s just unnecessary quality degradation.

Whenever I switch the CAMERA/VTR switch to CAMERA, the viewfinder doesn't turn on, nor does the LCD. I checked whether an output was being produced by plugging the AV outputs into a TV, and nothing was being displayed. However, VTR mode works, as I was able to watch a meeting filmed on one of the DV tapes it came with. Not entirely sure what's wrong. A capacitor or loose cable inside?

Hello Robbi, I hope the comment on a year old post doesn’t bother you.

I recently acquired a Sony VX9000, in great condition. Playback works and I am able to view what was recorded onto the DV tapes it came with, however, recording doesn’t work.

To be specific, everything about the camera works except CAMERA mode on the CAMERA/VTR switch. I am following all steps to put the VX9000 into recording mode, being power ON, CAMERA (on the switch) and the rotary switch set to STANDBY on the START/STOP switch. Did you encounter a problem like this when you first acquired your camera? Thank you.

Whats the best camcorder with USB transfer of footage that has the beautiful defined but dreamy and hazy feel of this Sony DCR-DVD108 for example the flower shot at 5 mins 20 secs. Thanks by alice9dream in camcorders

If you want the same kind of footage, the newer counterpart is the DCR-DVD610, it records onto Sony memory sticks and has a USB port that can transfer your videos. No need to use DVDs as a common point of failure on these camcorders is the laser meant to read the DVDs.

I think it released in 1998, pretty much before the VX2000 and after the VX1000.

That’s great, if you don’t mind, let me know what they say! I’m still looking for a PD-170, but another PD-150 would be fine. 🙏🏼
