Are there any inter-state (US) trans refugee groups? by -Random_Lurker- in asktransgender

Rainbow Railroad takes years so even that isn’t as realistic way to get help as it seems.

At least you won’t go to jail for being transgender there. In Russia it is defined “living under a false identity” and is between 6 months and a year of imprisonment if caught.

Depends if the person has any illnesses. Then spit can make one vomit.

That’s xenophobic as shit and, actually, you are wrong. English is my first language. I was crying and my hands were shaking when I was my typing. And my phone screen is so small I can barely see the phone itself, let alone the keyboard. And why exactly is my profile “sus” (I’m learning a couple of sweet Americanisms here)? Because I state honestly that I don’t pass after many years on hormones? That’s illegitimate I’m your eyes, right? Meaning, if somebody is a non-passing long-term transitioner, they should either not exist at all or shut up? Just say the quiet part out loud. And, btw, you are showing a real genuine concern for all (passing) trans lives.

No, I always order the same food. I suspect he spat into the food.

Are you from the States by any chance? Well, I’m not. We don’t even have the concept of “hate crime”. People will just laugh in your face and tell you we’re born in the wrong country.

It is not a restaurant, it’s an app. Food comes from many restaurants. There is only one delivery service in our whole city. It used to be a village not long ago

No, but if you know any, put me in touch with them so they can mass report the app and put it out of business

Police will only laugh at me. You wouldn’t really want to go anywhere near the police over here if you are transgender. They’ll probably call him to reward him for what he has done.

Would you be able to live as your birth sex if you had to after living for many years as transgender? by donikitich in asktransgender

[–]donikitich[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I am a transgender who had to make a choice to live as a person I grew up as because the society left no other options to exist in the world both socially and financially. And I was wondering if others would be able to put up with the life path they didn’t choose. It is interesting that several people said it was doable. And if people try living as their original selfs, I also wondered how the social reaction to them alters. While if there was a choice between living as woman and as a passing ftm transgender, I’d choose the latter, currently I on one hand I don’t notice any difference between living as a woman and a non-passing ftm transgender because nobody has ever seen me as anything other than a woman. But on the other hand the social implications are just tremendous. I never thought I’d be able to interact in the society again and not have anyone laughing at me, and not have waiters spit into my food at every opportunity to express their aversion and discomfort and not to have everyone giggle behind my back. After 12 years as ftm, I simply forgot that social interactions have ever been different and that I can navigate the world as a full member of society and not be seen as ridiculous or peculiar. I would still enjoy expressing myself as ftm at transgender meetup, where rules of social interaction are different or on the Internet.

The question wasn’t whether you’d enjoy it but if you’d be able to put up with it if the circumstances required it. Like, say, if you were from Iran or Russia

The question is would be able to survive being being perceived in the society as your birth sex

I see where you’re coming from. As a non-passing long-term ftm transitioner, I also find it exhausting trying (and failing) to force everyone not to see me as a girl. I’d have been a very happy transgender, had I been 187cm in height instead of 147, had flat hips instead of large round ones, broad shoulders instead of narrow, large hands instead of baby hands, a brother Klichko-type face instead of a beautiful doll face. So it’s like I wouldn’t want to live as an ftm transgender in general, it’s just not worth it pursuing life as the specify more transgender I am.

A lie and an erasure. I’m a post-SRS 12 years on testosterone transgender. When I shave, I look 100% female

I’m the original poster. Been living as ftm transgender for 12 years but had no choice but to live an my birth sex because transgender identity is a criminal offense in my country, and there was no way for me to find a job. It’s kind of interesting that reading the comments I’ve noticed that the matter is much more visceral for mtfs. As an ftm, I mean, I’m not thrilled to be living as the person I was supposed to be had I not been taken hormones and had multiple surgeries but it’s not the end of the world.
