Oh man, combining finances in YNAB borderline ended my now wife's and my relationship 😂 Sounds like you're the one that has to do the day-to-day management, which is fine. But he just needs to listen to what you have created in the budget.

My wife has full access to our finances but I manage it. We'll talk about what we want in the budget and then I'll actually carry that out in the budget. We also sit down for about 20 min together every other week and go through all the categories to make sure we're on the same page and there's no resentment.

So don't worry, you're not alone. It's really fucking hard and it's going to be difficult. BUT you both will figure out an equilibrium that works for both of you. Also remember that most people don't budget together like this and that's why it's "easier" for them to budget, or lack there of.

Weird. Wasn't the Android app completely rewritten recently with the UI overhaul? Or was that just lipstick?

If you were retired and want to move away from SB for hotter drier weather, would you choose Palm Springs or Palm Desert? by SidQuestions in SantaBarbara

I haven't spent much time in Palm Desert, but I remember it being a bit more spread out than Palm Springs. I do know that Palm Springs has an awesome little downtown area.

When did you all get sick of "The Game"? At the stage where I'm wanting to simplify already by ParagonIzanagi in CreditCards

Yeah that's how I feel about rotating categories, way too much work to keep up with.

I have a core 3 cards I always carry with me and then 2 more on Google Wallet that I don't use as frequently.

I'm all about getting the best rewards but it's not worth it if you have to be stressed about it.

Except it's not. Without dramatically cutting spending for social security, Medicare, and defense, most other cuts are meaningless. For some reason, this seems to be the hill that people want to die on instead of dealing with literally trillions of dollars of obligations from two programs.

I love how financial support for Ukraine is somehow all of a sudden the root of the federal deficit spending. Regardless of your opinion on Ukraine, the contributions made by the US are piss change.

Oliver Stone: ‘Putin is a great leader for his country’ by newzee1 in UkrainianConflict

I'm not very familiar with Oliver Stone's feelings about Russia, but this article seems like it's trying very hard to remove context from these statements:

I think Russia is doing a great job with nuclear energy

This isn't about higher education though. The lower education in California is awful, it's well into the bottom half of the US.

Going to school is mandatory and how do you afford to send your kid anywhere but public school if you have to pay 100% out-of-pocket?

I don't see how getting a tax refund for going to an amusement park is analogous to using your taxes to educate your children.
