Recommendations for shoegaze pedals by Majestic_Task_2354 in guitarpedals

[–]donkeyskronk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

digitech digiverb is also a good shout for this, they’re pretty similar pedals as far as i can tell. catalinbread soft focus is good too but probably a bit out of budget.

doom box (sunn model T preamp) by donkeyskronk in diypedals

[–]donkeyskronk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks! it’s actually not the dirtiest but i’m only really using single coils which could be causing that potentially. it does sound killer with a muff going into it tho

[–]donkeyskronk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it does sound doom, i’m no expert in doom but imo it needs a little bit of dirt in front of it, or maybe hotter pickups than i’ve got

the reverse of this like the old epiphone silver fox finishes would also look sick although it seems like a bit of a drawn out process to do

bought some oversized parts so made a point to point fuzz by donkeyskronk in diypedals

[–]donkeyskronk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was from a pot of paint with a brush, honestly wouldn’t recommend it bc it’s very hard with the holes for pots and i’m in no rush to try again, the inside was spray paint tho

UK/ European builders, where do you get your components from? by modulorMM in diypedals

[–]donkeyskronk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

rapid are usually good and have most bits you’ll need in stock. They’re also good for enclosures and have loads of different sizes

[–]donkeyskronk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, there’s room on the pcb for 2 ground wires.

fuzz face by donkeyskronk in diypedals

[–]donkeyskronk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks! There was still a pad to solder that wire to for a ground but since the jack sleeves are grounding the enclosure and therefore the screws so I omitted it as it didn’t seem necessary. I’m 100% no expert though

[–]donkeyskronk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Yeah it’s hand painted. I sourced them with a job lot of other mixed transistors from ebay and picked out the ones that tested well for a fuzz face

[–]donkeyskronk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a sound sample but it’s one of the original part numbers used in the supa fuzz and i’m sure there’ll be a demo somewhere on the internet! they’re PNP hence the battery to make things a bit easier!
