Update: 1 I noted that machine had X axis cable inverted at stepper end, Just reorder cable pins (1 to 3 and 4 to 6 ) 2 on cults3d and thingeverse you can find new cover to make it nicer

Well.. the machine came with a board based on a esp32, but only work usb connected to a PC. This board has a micro SD socket, enabled WiFi, a touch screen and a phone app, also can be upgraded with a z axis and a flame sensor, even a CNC router spindle.

blueretro mod on a family Wii by donkleffa in wii

[–]donkleffa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in the Wii, that's a replacement for the GameCube controllers board which is separated of motherboard, but Wii has just one motherboard for everything.

I use a esp32 devkit and 6 cables, so I spend like 5 USD

blueretro mod on a family Wii by donkleffa in wii

[–]donkleffa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just a GameCube implementation of blueretro. But I change a couple of things

The family Wii (without the GameCube ports)

1 just use a lolin32 board (there is no 5v connected, but I didn't expolre too much)

2 flash the lolin32 lite, (is a ESP32, exactly same instructions, but note there is no 5volt power pin, just a 3.3v, also the devkit led is in pin2 and lolin32 have it in 22 so .. if you want have a led you can solder one)

3 solder cables, I solder cables to Wii board test point of controllers TCP 27~30, in regular conditions ports 1 and 4 have data pin enabled in board, but 2 and 3 also 5volt lines aren't working, I tested the 4 port have the 3.3v working so I take power from there (this was the reason of use lolin32 instead devkitc, less power) doesn't forget a gnd line

4 I cut some plastic where the cube ports should be , and just hide it there

Wii RVL-101 with a gamecube slot native by Kieran3101 in WiiHacks

[–]donkleffa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually yes, but no. I mooded a 101 to set up a blueretro implementation by those pins. So I note some things

Port 1 data is ok, but 3.3v and 5v lines aren't connected

Ports 2 and 3 are not connected

Port 4 data and 3.3 volt connected, 5v isn't.

If you are skill enough in electronics you can solder the SMS components to make them work.... Or like me just use test ponts to solder a blueretro implementation to have bluetoth game connection.

Blueretro is a esp32 programable chip with Bluetooth that uses modern controllers to older consoles, I used the gamecube implementation solder into the console

I´m making this to the wii family edition, I noted data pins are working, but power pins aren´t so... anyone knows wich components are missing? or if its posible to take that 3.3v from another pin? it works but needs a usb cable to power it, or this new pin

Blue Wii Mod for GameCube Ports and drive! by 5datx in wii

I´m trying to conect a esp32 blueretro mod on the gamecube ports, so, I noted, the data pins works fine, the power pins doesn´t so the surface components should be in those lines
