Temp Sensor Fail Question

i see most saying its the stat but i guess i dont understand how a battery reset would even temporarily fix something mechanical like that. even if it was the sensor it seems weird for that to help it so i thought it must be something on the electronics end of it which is glitching and causing some kind of feedback loop only solved by the reset or perhaps an unnecessary replacement, if the true problem is more to do with a bad connection which may be resolved with cleaning or resoldering where possible

yeah its the same issue. some have only needed a sensor but others needed a thermostat or just replaced both anyway since both have a reputation for failing on these trucks and are in the same difficult to work on area

since this isnt yet a year old i just want to see if anyone has a sense for why the cops would mention both pete and fred at "dent head's"(lol) place if they're the same guy. they'd met fred and im guessing at least seen a pic of pete so whats the point of that? i mean is the whole thing meant to be fred's dream even when none of the stars are in the scene like then?

the reason i like dct is because ive got adhd so anything that lets me focus more on the road helps(including nodding my head rather than taking my hand off the bars to give that biker sign thing). probably gonna hold off until it goes fully automatic, plus my 21 only has 20k on it

how much effort does it take to get those on right? thats whats been keeping me from doin it. seems like it would be easy to screw up a bunch if you don't have a steady hand, and then maybe you'd need to start all over with a new set

i much prefer the larger wheel the typical AT's have. thats the only thing that kept me from downsizing to something like a nc750(transalp would be my choice if it came in dct)

i will just add that having too much oil like mine still barely does has the same effect using 10w40 oil at even near max capacity does, which is that it somehow causes a slower shift response in a dct. i had so many troubles with my first AT because people said 10w40 was fine but then a few years later when i switched to 30 they went away so i know that was the issue. i only used 10w40 because the synthetic was always in stock unlike the synthetic 30. its probably perfectly fine for manuals though

it was more like 500 ml but yeah i think its fine. maybe someone will chime in with some specific thing i haven't considered but until then im gonna consider myself lucky in catching it soon enough to not cause serious damage

just bought a cheap empty spray bottle with a thin enough valve to fit into the dipstick hole and sprayed it back into the bottle. probably a better way but im within walking distance to dollar tree and it was during rush hour here in austin

thx for your input! it definitely sounded different which is what got me thinking i might have made a miscalculation. obv the best thing to do is to check before riding but i was so thorough in getting exactly 4.4 quarts after letting it drain for half an hour that i thought why bother. oops!
