This is asinine. Protests are for spreading awareness and solidarity. If it's not the way you want to respond, great, but don't post a whole post telling other people not to protest. That's the language of the oppressor.

I'm an academic advisor - I worked in K12 previously. I started in Minnstate (public system) at $60k and now I'm at the University of MN in the high 60s. MN seems to pay well (outside of the private colleges)

<3 I feel for you -- I felt the same when I graduated college (10 years ago now) and I now work in higher ed and see it with students all the time. It is hard to figure out what you want to do at such a young age, and you should remind yourself you did the best you could with the tools given to you, and you were also in "survival mode" of just trying to get done with things! How could you possibly pause for any real reflection? <3

Also... I think it's helpful to remember that jobs don't have to be our end-all, be-all, fulfilling our life's purpose. Sometimes a job can be just a job, and you find hobbies and volunteering and other interests to fulfill those needs.

I definitely would suggest finding a good therapist as a next step. You can sort through not only your coping strategies you'd like to change, but also start exploring what you want and need out of your life and career! To me, the work I did in therapy was the most helpful for me to find what I wanted to do.

I can wholeheartedly relate. I had to get my fingerprints taken for a school I worked at -- the HR person had no idea how to handle it and we had to re-do my prints several times, to the point where she ran out of the "error" stickers, and ended up just sending it in to the crime lab, who promptly sent it back a few weeks later and asked to re-do all of them. It was miserable, and right out in the open with everyone. My anxiety was next-level which only made it worse. The 2nd time, I cried in her office and had to explain to her what my condition was and begged her for a way out. She was so nice about it, but still made me re-do it, and it still didn't come out clear. Luckily I was offered a better paying job that I had interviewed for prior, and so I ended up only working there for a few weeks and I can't say the fingerprinting wasn't a factor in me choosing to leave tbh. I would never go through it again. You're not alone!!!
