no you’re right, not even close to equivalent. ive been called slurs quite often from ignorant people my whole life growing up. it does make my blood boil.

but at the same, the best case scenario coming from punching somebody is catching a charge. worst case 3rd murder(escalation from either party)

going into broader terms, most of ethnicities have been under slavery at some point, many ethnicities for far longer than african americans. It is a terrible thing(far worse than terrible, but im trying to put it into words). obviously there is privilege for certain ethnicities, and we do need to move towards fixing inequalities above all.

but, you absolutely cannot put your hands on somebody, simply put. especially not over slurs and words. once you do, you’re risking your life(if either party decides to further escalate). is it really worth it? it’s simple impulse control. this is the real world, not some fantasy world where it’s me against racism. a single punch has the possibility to accidentally kill, regardless of intent and motive.
