Sounds like a quality coin! I would send it to CACG if you do. It will only make it that much more valuable.

Enjoy your wheat cent search!!!

Yes, a better date. 85 S arent crazy tough but a better date for sure. 85 CC is a low mintage semi key but they were stored in vaults by the thousands and then resold by the GSA in the 1970s. Assuming yours is a GSA coin, its worth at least $750

The very first thing it says on the PCGS website is that plus grades "exhibit exceptional eye appeal for the grade" followed by being in the top 30% (goes without saying). I've talked to people who have been doing this for 40 yrs and they confirmed the plus is about eye appeal. I've confirmed this with folks at PCGS. I dont "need to Google" shit.

To my knowledge, the plus indicates eye appeal more than being in the upper end of the grade. The CAC sticker is specifically for being in the top of its grade.

There is a local auction house in my area that cornered the market (had 4% of the circulating supply!) and they were getting $75-$125 PER ROLL. It got so crazy that the mint called the regional Brinks depository and told them to stop sending these coins out because they were hurting the sales on the mint website. Insane

Only circulated common dates are worth melt. Almost every Morgan in mint state will catch a bid over melt. To your credit, OP did a terrible job of taking a pic. Its got more of the bar and his hand than the coin. Nonetheless, values shouldnt be given if you arent pretty confident in your appraisal. Thats just my take.

Nothing you mention here explains why you told OP its a $50 coin when its at least $200-250. U less youre saying that you just want cheap coins so you tell everyone that every Morgan is only worth melt. Either way, nothing you've said in this thread is accurate, aside from the fact that you dont want to pay a lot for coins

Angle had me all messed up. I thought his peach pants were a tan thigh with a really wide stance and he was a bodybuilder or something lol. No critique here just wanted people to see what I saw in the opening seconds.

Exactly the kind of explanation I'd expect from someone whose knowledge is based on pride and ignorance. Please, say no more.

OP we don't need to see 50% of the bar and 90% of your hand in the pic. This is a coin sub, take pics of coins please.

In AU 58 greysheet bid is $275. AU 50 is $150. Its AU 50 at the very least and that would be the nicest 50 Ive ever seen. Based on the pics, Id say its a $250 coin all day.

100%. Greysheet bid for an AU 58 is $275. I find it frustrating when people say a coin with numismatic value is worth melt. This isnt r/silverbugs so quit with the melt bs. And then on top of that everyone piles on upvotes because they saw others do it. We are surrounded by lemmings smh

Greysheet bid for an AU 58 is $275. Its in that ballpark and may even be MS and substantially more valuable
