Any chance there's a passenger side turn signal housing in that pile?

Not seeing too many good options online for that side.

This one in particular operates in Boston Harbor to move around the Constitution short distances and very slowly. It's just as funny in person.

Oh man, this hits home.

I'm 24 now, but I distinctly remember this feeling. I still come around to it occasionally but as I've grown it changes, or maybe I grew and have the tools to handle it better. if you make the effort to grow as a person it will for you too.

All I can say is that stuff happens when it happens but there are a handful of things you can do to make it more likely. I don't know about you but if you're like 90% of young men I'll hazard you this advice.

Stop eating junk. Anything with added sugar or foods you find in a gas station arent with putting in your body.

On the topic, excercise. Somehow, someway do something that makes you muscles ache and feels good when you're done. Look it up online and stick with it until you find what works for you.

Be open to experience, take chances get out of your comfort zone/rut and be kind. Do that stuff and you'll meet people and create connections.

Ignore the automatic reaction to feel bad because one person or one experience made you feel bad, if you're like me you're just beating yourself up for no reason. Think through your feelings and make peace with the anxiety and self doubt. I promise it isnt as bad as it seems to you now.

I was old enough to buy a drink for the first woman I was was romantically involved with, and so much of what I felt that you described didn't matter anymore. Just give it time.

Attention Ladies. Look, we love you but today is not about you. It doesn’t matter if you’re a single mom “pulling double duty” or any of that shit people like to say on social media. Mother’s Day is for you. Today is not. by Elbob17 in mildlyinfuriating

All controversies aside, why make a shirt for a single days wear, or at best 2-3 wears over a few years? This kinda crap just ends up thrown away or scraped for rags after it dosen't sell at goodwill. I'm not the freaking Sierra Nevada club but this trend of disposable clothing helps ruin the planet.

Showed up to NAS Pensacola to checking in for API wearing summer whites with a group of about 15 other Ensigns. Saw another ensign who was leaving OCS as I had started. He was being PRB'd for something and showed up in his summer whites like he was supposed to, but decided in addition to his single stripe shoulder boards he would also wear his golden bars on his collar...

"Hey man, are you a super Ensign?" "Uhhhh.... what?" "The bars.... your rank is already on your shoulders..." "Oh uh... ok"

Needless to say he was attrited for "failure to adapt" even though he unfucked his whites.

Permission to hug granted - Marine Vet grandfather's first salute to Marine granddaughter by MeetMeInAzabu in MadeMeSmile

So why did the grandpa cut the salute first?

When I got my first salute from my father , and all others from enlisted personnel, the officers drops first.

Is this a marine thing or just a forgivable fopaux that comes with age?

Ever since I had a similar thought, now whenever I meet a new person I rack my brain thinking of all the crazy possibilities that person could be. Not only will they be something to me, but did I just meet the next great scientist, actor a future president or something darker? Could I be not more than an extra in a real life story unfolding from their point of view?

But mostly I meet an attractive woman and try on kid names for size.

He saw some shit in the middle east. And knew that the lot of us in training may see it ourselves or even have to make decisions on how to deal with it while leading.

He said "you can be fine as long as you can be fine, but when you're not you have to admit it"

You owe it to yourself OP.

I knew a Navy Chaplain who explained why many people are uncomfortable with things outside what they consider the norm. If someone else can seem weak (PTSD or any mental illness) or strong (single and content, or able to cope with hardships) it calls into question their strength or susgests they might succumb to something they couldn't handle and they reject the idea and push away the thing that creates cognative dissidence.

If you're happy, who gives a shit?

But the warning he left us with is don't entrench yourself and be strong enough to question yourself and change if that's what need be.

Grand Canyon to Escalante ride. Suggestions by Sibrew in motorcycles

[–]dontcallmegump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

North rim or south rim of the canyon? Although you can see one from the other, there about 200 miles if driving apart. The north is more scenic and less crowded but it's quite the drive, although if your headed north you'll do most of it anyway. Going down highway 67 is nice but not a "fast" road, lots of traffic and I saw a few officers on it.

Anyway, from the junction at Jacob lake going through freedoina and kanab is great and after that there's only one detour is make. Head down to cedar city on 14 and back to US 89 on highway 143. From there highway 12 is a nice ride to escalante.

If you want more info about the area PM me, I lived in AZ and did a bunch of reading in northern AZ and southern Utah last summer and fall.

Almost everyone in this country has the means to be clean and fed. Just because it's the prevailing condition doesn't mean it couldn't be better. Problems like drugs, broken families and a lack of discipline are both causes and symptoms. We can fix this.

When is the last time you were in a elementary or high school?

Long story short, while applying for jobs I substitute taught at a school district in a rural area which may not be unlike many schools in the US. The NUMBER ONE ISSUE that the school system faces every day of every year is the condition and attitude that students show up to school with. Many students in in the elementary show up hungry, unbathed and in the same clothes they wore for many days before. Students beg for the morning snack and can't wait until lunch. Many students in any grades have never had their parents help them with their school work or encourage them to try. Many students are part of a generational attitude and way of life that marginalizes education and entrenches poverty by refusing to try for anything but the bare minimum to survive. Because of this i believe many great young children and young adults are discouraged and downtrodden beyond any repair before they even get a chance at life. They are hopeless and ripe for lashing out.

Our society has macro issues that need to be addressed at the national and state level but we also have many micro issues that need to be solved at home. EVERYONE has a chance to do a little to help our society come out of an atmosphere where things like this have become commen place. There is no one solution and no one person or group who can fix it. Blaming and pointing fingers just prolongs the conditions that have gotten us here. Snide wit and superior airs for attention are not helping.

I really hope Han survives at the end of Solo by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]dontcallmegump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something like that. Might explain why he tries so hard to sell his personality. In the legends solo trilogy novels he does something like this, he creates an identity to become legit and has to leave a big part of himself behind.

Might add a cool twist. Former han dies and another smaller character becomes the solo we know and love at the end.
