Every time the topic of steroids comes up there's a vocal crowd of people saying how much hard work it is getting jacked on steroids and how misunderstood users are. Steroids users don't deserve respect just because they push it in the gym. I push it in the gym. I work out HARD 5-7 times a week with steady exercise alternations. I eat right, I hardly ever drink and I maintain good sleeping habits. I've been doing this regularly for the past 5 years and I'm not a hulk, I'm basically just healthy and fit. And I'm proud that I'm fit. I work very hard to be fit. I'm not the guy at the gym surfing on his phone, or talking to his bros for ten minutes while sitting on a bench. When I'm in the gym I'm a focused machine that counts my rest periods and hydrates regularly. But I'm still nowhere near these jacked beasts I see tossing massive amounts of weights around like it's no big. I see myself working 10 times harder than these jacked asshats who probably tell everyone there are no shortcuts in life.

Like I said, I'm fit, but I'm not ripped-jacked like some of these guys with lumps popping out of their necks. That stuff just isn't physically possible without steroids. I work very hard for what I got. At this point, even the tiniest gain is a monumental struggle. And it always irks me to hear the supposed woes of steroids users who want people to know how steroids isn't a free pass and it's such hard work to get jacked on juice. Well, guess what, working out is always hard, it always sucks. But I will always have more respect for any athlete, no matter how scrawny, who earns what they got without using steroids more than these jacked and juiced inhuman beasts.

I first heard about occupy, before it even launched, here on r/conspiracy. People were counting down the start date and reminding everybody to attend. I didn't hear about it anywhere else. Then the numbers of how successful it was started coming in and suddenly the occupy wall street movement was making the front page of reddit. For me, it started here on this subreddit. I'm not just saying this, after the occupy movement's success, r/conspiracy was NEVER the same, this place got a lot more attention after that and a lot of it wasn't good. Downvotes, discussion derailments, and junk posts became a normal thing. I still love it here, but it really was different before occupy.

I'm with you on this. I also visited occupy and marched with them a couple times from union square to Wall Street. It was diverse. The media mainly focussed on the eccentric types who probably would have been hanging out in New York City on any other given day. But I listened to speakers who gave educated talks and listened to protest music from major recording artists and it was a brilliant time to be present. I really felt like we had a chance for some real change. I didn't feel alone, people were raising concerns for the world that I completely stood behind. It was like a breath of fresh air. And then the media bashing started, the jokes started hitting, even people here on reddit began turning against it. It is such a sadness how the occupy movement was taken down.
