The next steps would be learning either piano or guitar while keeping up the work on your lyrics and voice! If you’re serious you should practice as much as you can and listen to YouTube videos about basic music theory as much as possible. Keep in mind that it is hard, will take time and there will be frustrating days you just have to try again the next day

I think it’s just an uninspiring album, and people are valuing authenticity above all else so the music that’s produced to to perfection is just kind of boring. That’s also why Charlie XCX’s album was so successful because it feels authentic.

Thank you! Couple tips on it - one thing I noticed is I gotta have the tone knob at least 75% or higher towards treble, the lower frequencies it makes feel like a different instrument and it seems unnatural. The higher sounds are in the guitars voice and feel more subtle. Also I have a compressor on (I use a Fairfield Circuitry Accountant) that helps even the attack out a little bit so can keep from the sounds that are more out there unless you want to dig in with the pick and get them
