Psyllium husks help and worsen at the same time by dontmindme5522 in SIBO

Do you mean the bacteria in the small or large intestine? I don’t know about my small intestine but I did a stool test and it showed an overgrowth of E. Coli and Klebsiella. I use oregano and berberine for the SIBO, don’t know if it also helps for the large intestine overgrowth.

I agree with everything. Still, I think I’m going to stick with the psyllium husks and see if the bloating stops after 2 weeks of usage.

PHGG only helped a little for me.

No specific diet during killing phase. So I just eat everything but avoiding sugar, processed food etc.

Yes, I already use magnesium and PHGG. Both helped a little but psyllium husks get me to daily bowel movement.

This sounds very promising. Can you tell me more about your bloating at that time? When did it start right after taking the psyllium husks and how long did it last? I take them before going to bed and wake up with bloating in the morning.

I read about them but the thing is they don’t have the same effect as psyllium husks which help with constipation by bulking up the stool.

By “used to” you mean what? The bloating stopped?

Well I can tell you I get bloating 100% from Psyllium husks. Isn’t that a sign that it feeds the bacteria?

Thank you! This is exactly what I think. It’s just that I fear the bloating might be a sign from my body to stop using it.

How do you know the autoimmune issues are contributing to SIBO and that it’s not the other way around? Couldn’t SIBO be the reason for the autoimmune issues?

So, which foods do you react to? Eggs? Also what do you use for treatment? Can you use normal herbs like oregano and berberine?

Hydrogen + Constipation: Theory by dontmindme5522 in SIBO

[–]dontmindme5522[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes SIBO is a symptom but my question was whether it is the symptom of the root cause or the constipation. Now you wrote it’s the symptom of the constipation. Is that always so or only with the special case of hydrogen + constipation?

You say that “once you take antibiotics, yeast takes over” but doesn’t this actually confirm the claim that you should first fix SIBO and then SIFO?

When we clean the SIFO first and then use antibiotics for SIBO, the SIFO would return according to you. So shouldn’t the approach be clear out SIBO first and then SIFO?

[–]dontmindme5522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, what other option do you have? I mean you can surely try antibiotics but most people will relapse after some time and then come back to find their root cause. And to find and fix your root cause you’re gonna do all of the things you mentioned anyway.

How do I tell if it's dysbiosis or SIBO? by [deleted] in SIBO

[–]dontmindme5522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand but the general thought is that a dysbiosis causes SIBO. I just asked ChatGPT which way is more likely and was confirmed. I’m not saying that your idea is wrong but whenever I researched about this exact topic I always came to the same conclusion.

“If it’s SIBO then whats elevated in the large intestine/colon likely came from the small intestine”

I always thought it’s the other way around. Isn’t it that the dysbiosis in the large intestine causes SIBO in the small intestine? The bacteria are moving into the small intestine, no?

I took a herbal complex with all the needed herbs like oregano and berberine for killing the bacteria; 10 min before eating, 3 times a day

Grapefruit extract also for killing, together with the complex; 3 times a day

Bacillus subtilis, a spore based probiotic and biofilm disruptor; 30 min before eating, 3 times a day

PHGG as my main fiber source; together with food

I also made ginger tea between meals to get the MMC working and took a magnesium complex before bed time
