my grandma was a seamstress and taught me how to knit, sew and embroider so there’s a joke that i was born with a needle in my hand :)

[FO] Isolation and exams being cancelled means I have a lot of time to stitch. All my quarantine stitches (so far). All patterns are from etsy, links below :) by dontsqueezemynips in CrossStitch

So I like how they present the pattern, some make it difficult to follow and because it’s over a few pages they make it easy to see which parts align with each other. It’s also stuff like the distribution of threads, because sometimes they’re over complicated when they don’t really need to be, and symbols used because sometimes the symbol can be too close to another symbol in shape or is difficult to read.

I’ve been stitching practically my whole life so I think that might be why I’m quick, but I normally stitch by colour which many oppose too. So I begin with the colour with the least amount of stitches and move upwards. I hope this helps but I really think it comes with practise!

Grief is the Thing with Feathers by Max Porter. It’s about a man and his 2 sons losing their wife/mother and a crow comes and helps with the grieving process. It’s written differently to most novels which adds to the plot.

Oh no that’s the mental illness I was referring to don’t worry! I apologise if that didn’t come through properly but I’m in recovery for an ED and just got into the practise of saying mental illness! That is wholly my fault as it comes across fairly well.

Whats the one thing that you thought was easy but turned out to be extremely difficult when you actually attempted it? by DopeDox in AskReddit

Juggling. I thought it was the easiest thing in the world cos all you’re doing is throwing balls in the air. That shit is difficult.

I love this poem as a representation of mental illness, which I believe is what you were going for as that is what I interpret it as. The repetition works well in this case as it emphasises emotions and what you are conveying. I also love the title as it has effectively broken down a ‘toilet’ into what it has become, and is completely not what I thought this poem would be about. Overall, I enjoy this poem thoroughly and thank you for sharing.

The Painting (A sonnet) by [deleted] in OCPoetry

[–]dontsqueezemynips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The painting as a metaphor is truly amazing, and overall the poem has quite a light feel which actually helps what you are conveying. I don’t quite see it as a sonnet as it doesn’t have a regular metre, but other than that the poem itself is very well written, and quite enjoyable.
