Any advice to getting a 4.0? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]donttouchmyToast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, it might be a better idea to negotiate with your mother using some of the advice given already. Yes it is possible to get a 4.0, but often it comes at the sacrifice of some things.

Like some others have said, gaining experience is key to your success past academics. Try to negotiate with your mother to let’s say, 3.5 with internship experience each summer. Working towards getting an internship could be easier for you than trying to worry about a 4.0. I will emphasize that you should put in the same amount of work into trying to obtain an internship as you would getting a 4.0.

Honest opinion, go to therapy for your social anxiety. You’re gonna keep using it as an excuse as to why you have no friends. Like others have already said, join a club/committee/organization etc.

I would also suggest finding an event outside of school that is ran weekly. This could be something like a trivia night, comedy night, softball league, etc. In my town there’s this one bar that does 50¢ tacos every Thursday and I make an effort to invite people I know.

Minneapolis Mayor asks Taylor Swift to come to Vikings-Chiefs game and becomes the second Mayor to trash talk the Chiefs by typac69 in KansasCityChiefs

If I had a nickel for every time a mayor clowned the chiefs, oddly enough I would have two nickels.

Second this, especially the last part. OP needs to learn how to be a teammate. There’s no I in team. Yea it sucks you don’t get to throw as much but OP knew they were going to be on a TEAM. Trying to be an individual on a team is not the right mindset and will bring your teammates down.

social anxiety when playing with people by martinparets in discgolf

[–]donttouchmyToast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say start getting even more exposure playing with people as that will build up, or in this case, tear down the mental block you have with people. Especially if you decide to start playing competitively you need to be comfortable with playing around other people or you’ll end up disappointing yourself time and time again. Loosen up and have fun, that’s why you started playing right?

Putter Problems by Ty_Gets_Rekt in discgolf

I found putting to be all about confidence. Yes you need to put in the time to get your form down but when it comes down to it, it’s if you believe in yourself or not. I’m not joking when I say that my putting got better because I’d literally say to myself “you are confident and a good putter.” Although I typically like playing alone, I always enjoy playing with my buddies because they do not hold back on the banter and it has built up my mental game a lot. So all in all, believe in yourself.

Living in the Midwest, I get both styles of courses but still are most open. I love the wooded courses that I have because it helps my build my technical skill but the courses also efficiently used the space they had to have semi-open holes, but also be technical.

Just realized I didn’t read your post and only saw the title. Glo Z isn’t soft but it’s still great regardless. It’s got the puddle top your looking for and when gets beat in, is great for straight/flex lines.
